If the lights flash when you hit the panic button but the horn does not beep, then the alarm horn is bad. Vehicle has a second horn just for the alarm

I assume the factory alarm was somehow bypassed when they installed the remote start is there a way I can make the factory alarm work when the doors are opened without key,?

To arm content theft alarm.
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door with the power door lock switch or
the remote keyless entry transmitter. The
SECURITY light should flash.
3. Close all doors. The SECURITY light should go off
after approximately 30 seconds. The alarm is not
armed until the SECURITY light goes off.

If a locked door is opened without the key or the remote keyless entry transmitter, the alarm will go off. The headlamps and parking lamps will flash for two minutes, and the horn will sound for 30 seconds, then will turn off to save the battery power.

2700 a Santa Fe SE limited. When I hit the button once to lock the doors the alarm will go off I have to physically walk outside put the key in the door lock unlock the doors to get the alarm to stop if I...

Sounds like your auto locking/alarm system is out of sync with the buttons on your key fob. You will need to reset it so the fob buttons match what they should do. You will need to go to the alarm system manufacturer for directions on how to do that.

My key fob for my 2004 kia rio lx won't lock / unlock the vehicle. Does anyone know how this can be solved? I've put a new battery in the fob but still no joy!

The key may need to be reprogrammed if it's not working now .there are independents out there who can do it at a reasonable price for you .

How to turn off the pro alarm

I would start by replacing the FOB. Sounds to like the electronics inside it are bad. The only reason the horns would go off is if you hit the panic button. There is a slight chance the receiver is bad. But Fobs are cheaper to replace than the receivers. If you have two FOBs and they both react the same, then replace the receiver. Or just ditch the system. The keys (in the door locks) should still activate the alarm system.

Panic alarm not turn off

Try unlocking the car with the key, not the remote.

Replaced starter on '99 Yukon. When reconnected

I can't say for sure but it sound like you either trigger the "Panic" button or alarm system if equiped. Hook the battery up (negative last) and push the "Panic" button on the key FOB.
If you don't have the FOB you may be able to reset but disconnecting the negative cable only.
If it's an alarm system, locking and then unlocking with the FOB should reset it, also using the key to turn on the ignition is supposed to reset it.

Kia Rio 1.5 diesel Factory alarm, car horn honking, side indicators flashing, unable to start the car. When I arm the car with the fob and unlock the door with the key then open the door the horn starts...

The fob is infamous for its battery life. It gets drained so quickly that there happens to be a little later when the fob is very close to the door lock, ignition & unnecessary triggers the alarm due to low reception as the battery of the fobs discharges very fast, depending on the model, which has a certain virtual sheild(STARTRECK type) which is triggered by the fobs strength of the signal(radi waves).

Why not try a new set of batteries for your fob?? .................................sodeep

Key fob will not undo cetral locking or disable car alarm changed battery in key fob still having no luck any idea who can re code key fob to central locking and alarm?

If you don't have one that works for the vehicle now, you'll have to take it to your local dealer to have it programmed to the vehicle. Some will charge for this, some will do it at no charge.

If you do have a remote that is programmed and working for the vehicle, then the following steps will allow you to program another remote:

1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.

2. Put seatbelt on (or clip it into the buckle) to shut the warning buzzer off.

3. Put key in ignition, turn to run position but don't start it.

4. Press and hold the unlock button on the working key fob and hold for 4 seconds, then also press the panic button.

5. Release both buttons and you should hear a single chime to indicate it is in program mode. You have 30 seconds after the chime to program any additional remotes you want to program.

6. Press and release both the unlock and lock buttons simultaneously on the remote you are programming. You should hear another single chime.

7. Within 4 seconds after hearing the chime, press either lock or unlock button on remote that you are programming.
