SOURCE: renault clio clutch adjust

If the problem is just a clutch cable (clio 55 plate should be cable, not hidraulic), you can adjust or replace the clutch cable quit easily.

If the problem concerns instead the clutch disk, then you will need to put a car up on a bridge, empty the oil and fluid, and remove the clutch that is attached on the engine, on the right lower side.
This is usually not a job for home repair.

Is the clutch on a 2006 model Holden rodeo 5 speed ute manually adjustable? It is currently slipping. If adjustable, how?

where does the clutch engage, right at the bottom of the pedal travel or right at the top ? if at the top the pressure plate is faulty, if right at the bottom it is the clutch plate that is worn. if it is a hydraulic system they have no adjustment.

Hi My clutch only activate when my pedal is right at the top.

Hi Walter There are no details of what vehicle you have.
If you have a cable operated clutch 9 times out of 10 you should be able to carry out a simple adjustment to improve the position of drive take up on the pedal ( normally at gearbox end).
If you have a hydraulic clutch (would normally have a separate reservoir) however some use brake fluid reservoir. 4 times out of 10 there may be an adjustment either at the push rod at the pedal to brake booster/master cylinder or at the slave cylinder gearbox end.
Be aware whether cable or hydraulic clutch plate wear may have taken place and this may be your problem so if adjustable monitor closely in coming weeks for judder or slipping. If not adjustable you probably have a clutch plate/ pressure plate fault.

Sounds more like a "throw out" bearing" which works in conjunction with the clutch...should have been changed with the clutch...unfortunately still requires inspection to confirm...

start the engine and put it in 2nd gear make sure the hand brake is firmly on ,,then try to drive forward if clutch slips then it will be the clutch that is at fault ,,if not adjust it

Clutch pedal travel is excessive. Sits about 2"

A clutch pedal takes MUCH more travel to function correctly, when compared to a brake system...

A clutch needs to be replaced (maybe) when it SLIPS, Chatters, Or fails to release...

Other than that, the clutch will need to be adjusted to allow for total release of the relese bearing when pedal is released, and full disengaugement when pedal is depressed....Have a mechanic look at the adjustement, as proper adjustment gives longer clutch life. This is a periodic adjustment item.

Scenic dificult to change gears would it be clutch cable sretched or would it need replaceing

i doubt it will be the clutch cable but either the clutch is worn or what is more likely is the clutch cable adjuster, the clutch cable adjuster can be found where your clutch pedal is, it is prudent to replace the cable and adjuster at the same time,

Clutch bites high up on pedal movement

check clutch master cylinder rod adjustment and pedal height should be just higher than brake pedal. could try and bleed system also.
most hydraulic clutch systems have high take up points, adjust master cylinder rod, check for free play at top after adjusting if all that is O.K. then clutch plate may be nearly worn out but not slipping at this stage.

Clutch slipping

A clutch is usually adjusted from underneath the car if it's a mechanical clutch.

Your comment that there is very little play at the top indicates an improperly adjusted clutch. You should have about 1/2 - 3/4 inch of play before feeling the clutch in the pedal.
