Were is the vent canister on a 2006 Aveo - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo

The vent valve is ON the charcoal canister. Now where is the canister? depends what 06 chevy you own

It's located under the vehicle back behind the fuel tank , Installed in the canister ! Remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve from the canister !
Rotate the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve counterclockwise in order to release it from the locked position.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister harness electrical connector (2) from the EVAP vent solenoid valve. Clean away any debris that may be present around the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve.
Remove the EVAP canister bolt. Lower the EVAP canister.

Ok, so what is the question? The canister vent solonoid needs to be tested and possibly replaced.

Most likely your canister vent valve is stuck, plugged or defective. If you live in a cold climate it is not unusual for ice or snow to have plugged it. This can be remedied by putting the car in a warm garage for several hours until it melts.
If the service engine soon light is on you will have to take it to a service garage to have the codes read to determine what may have failed.

Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Vent System Performance

Possible Causes:


The EVAP system tests run when the engine is first started and meets the Conditions for Running the DTC. An intermittent condition could be caused by a damaged EVAP vent housing, a temporary blockage at the EVAP canister vent inlet, or a pinched vent hose. A blockage in the vent system will also cause a poor fuel fill condition.An EVAP canister, vent hose, or vent solenoid valve that has restricted flow may cause this DTC to set. Using a purge solenoid command with a scan tool will allow vacuum to be applied to the system instead of pressure. With the engine running, the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve open and the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve commanded to 100 percent, the fuel tank vacuum should not increase to more than 5 inches H2O.An EVAP canister filter that is restricted can cause this DTC to set. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Filter Replacement and Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Cleaning .Disconnecting one component at a time while the EVAP system is under flow will help to pinpoint a restriction in the system.Reviewing the Failure Records vehicle mileage since the diagnostic test last failed may help determine how often the condition that caused the DTC to be set occurs. This may assist in diagnosing the condition.For intermittent conditions, refer to Intermittent Conditions .

evap vent solenoid goes to the evap canister near the fuel tank.

IF YOU DONT SEE NO FUEL LEAKS UNDER THE CAR OR AROUND THE FUEL TANK.CHECK LOOK FOR FUEL SOAK EVAP CANISTER OR VAPOR HOSE DISCONNECTED FROM EVAP CANISTER.

CODE PO455 EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LARGE LEAK DETECTED.POSSIBLE CAUSES CANISTER VENT SOLENOID MAY BE STUCK IN OPEN POSITION / EVAP CANISTER TUBE EVAP CANISTER PURGE OUTLET TUBE OR EVAP RETURN TUBE DISCONNECTED OR CRACKED OR CANISTER IS DAMAGED / EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE STUCK CLOSED OR CANISTER DAMAGED / FUEL FILLER CAP MISSING LOOSE NOT TIGHT OR THE WRONG PART / FUEL VAPOR HOSES TUBES BLOCKED OR RESTRICED OR FUEL VAPOR CONTROL VALVE TUBE OR FUEL VAPOR VENT VALVE ASSEMBLY BLOCKED /FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR HAS FAILED MECHANICAL FAULT /FUEL TANK CONTROL VALVE IS CONTAMINATED DAMAGED OR HAS FAILED.

if you look underneath the vehicle on drivers side in the area beneath drivers you with see a plastic rectangular sort of shaped box this is evap canister and vent valve is there in this area.

its above ur fuel tank from what i kno of but it could be ur canister or just a short in the wire to ur solenoid
