After you replace the ignition switch turn the key to start the car and release leave the key were it stops after trying to start wait 10 minutes until security light goes out turn key to full off position then repeat the above procedure two more times for a total of three on the 3rd attempt to start car wait for light to go out then turn key to full off positoion wait 10 seconds then try to start car body control module should learn new pass code and the car should start.

First turn switch off.make sure battery is fully charged.then crank the engine .it might start for1 or 2 second then shut of do not turn the key off after engine turns off ,leave the key on till security light goes off or glows steady.then try to start .you may have to wait 10 to 15 minutes after leaving the key to on posisison.

Have 2003 chevy impala will not start. how do i by pass thy security system?

I was told u cant bypass security light - it may be a broken wire or a wire came off starter or it could be the key switch - mine would do that - leave key in the ignition (may have to leave ignition on) for any where from 11 - 30 minutes and see if it starts then - if it does I had to have the ignition replaced and there is a recall on those for that - it costed me $605 to get it fixed - waiting to here back from Chevy about getting reimbursed for it!

I changed the ignition and igntion switch on my 2003 chevy impala and my car wont start now !! Help Please

You have changed a component that needs to be recognized by the ECU otherwise the ECU tells the immobilizer that there is a temper with ignition wires and car will not start as it thinks it is being stolen. Get the car to a garage to reprogram the ECU to recognize the new ignition.

2003 Chevy Impala starting issue

Sounds like the neutral safety switch is faulty. Slamming the shifter into Park has temporarily solved the condition for some, but the switch may have to be replaced.
