Sounds like what you may have is a compressor clutch trying to quit on you. I have a Honda Odyssey and it was doing the same thing and it too had proper amount of freon. Am not sure how to test that clutch for that issue but eventually it will stop working all together just as mine did. soon as the clutch was replaced, had the cold air back. That's what I would have checked. I hope this gets you back into the cold air soon. Jesus loves you, John 3:16-17 (KJV)
There are a number of possibilities:
1. Not enough anti-freeze in the cooling system. Anti-freeze not only protects against freezing, but also boil-over.
2. Defective thermostat. If it is stuck closed or partially so, it can cause overheating.
3. Clogged radiator.
4. Defective water pump.
5. Blown head gasket.
Hello there my Peugeot 407 16 hdi engine fan has stopped working and AC is not cooling either, does anyone know if there is a relay or fuse that I can try replacing before taking it in? Thanks a lot!
cannot seem to upload a pic sorry and it will take me a thousand words but my alldata book only lists the engine numbers and not the models now iam looking at the one i think it is and that goes around the crank top run goes around tensioner with back of belt to this of course then the generator around the next idler up to the PAS then down to the AC and back to the pulley
firstly you need to check the coolant level and make sure there are no air bubbles in the cooling circuit secondly the thermostat could be damaged and stays in the closed position thirdly the cooling radiator could be clogged and it must be flushed or replaced you have to take into accont that it could be a faulty message sent by faulty temperature sensor or bad connector of the senser so you need to open the hood and decide, is the engine very hot or is it normal but still the fan is on
unfortunately the ac compressors on your vehicle are known for this problem. it is a defect which unfortunately will only lead to replacement, usually the belt breaks before it goes out completely. sorry for the bad news but it will be a spendy job best thing you can do is only use the defrost, and ac when you absolutely have to. I have been a GM tech for years and have replaced hundreds of them
Good day! electrical radiator fans typically have 2 speeds a high and a low. you may be having an issue with the high speed of the fan, that is why when you are not moving the temperature goes up!
Hi I would check the wire under the bonnet, they sometimes touch the exhaust and melt. normally when a fan go's on for a short while then cuts out you would need a new fan, if it is staying on for longer than 1 to 2 minutes then it is most likely a wire. follow the wire back from the fan to check for any suspect bad connections.
there are 2 relays inbetween the 2 fans behind the front grill the wiring to the relays tend to corrode.
what you need to do is replace both relays and the wiring conectors
that seems to be the problem. If the fan does not turn on when the a/c is turned on it could be a fuse, relay, control box, or just a bad fan. Try connecting the fan directly to see if it works. Does this car have 2 fans? normally all the small cars have 2 fans one for the engine cooling and one to assist the first when the a/c is turned on. Without the fan pulling air through the a/c condensor the had pressure goes up high enough to shut off the a/c compressor. It also causes some cars to run warmer than usual when stopped. Check the a/c condensor for blockage also which doesn't have anything to do with your fan not working.
