There should be six or seven allen wrench screws around the edge of the door panels. Loosening these releases the retaining clips inside. You will then want to remove the manual window crank if you have one by laying two fingers flat on the door panel and pushing the ring around the base of the crank sideways. You might have to rotate around this as it only pushes one way. Next you will have to remove the two large golden screws directly under the door panels handle. If you have rear door panel speakers you will have to politely pry off the speaker grill with a flat blade screwdriver and remove the speakers four screws and the wire clip from behind the speaker. You will also have to unscrew the door lock post. Then you should be able to lift the door panel up to release the top lip of it from the door.

SOURCE: how remove the rear inside door panel on a 2001 oldmobile aurora

The inner door panel is held in by clips and screw.
Look at the door near the door handle there should be screws holding it in and along the outer edge of the door. Once loose, and the door handle removed or the arm rest removed. The door panel then prys out , because of the clips that hold it on. Then pops out by applying pressure to the panel upward to the top of the door. The clips always break because of the design and plastic.

Good luck

SOURCE: rear door panel removal

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

SOURCE: door panel removal for 2002 9-5 on driver rear

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls

2005 sharan. When locking and unlocking the car all doors work except the drivers door, could it be the wiring loom in the door pilar?

If you have a remote for locking and unlocking, it could be the actuator on the door. If not it's just a mechanical connection for which you'll need to remove the door panel and replace a small plastic connector.

Removing cylinder head

This is a very involved job which require you to remove the timing belt and the timing chain in the rear of the engine. I would not recommend you do this unless you know what you're doing.
