SOURCE: change hyundai accent 2001 front brake pads

Once the car is jacked up, remove the front tires, then whith a 12 wrench key, remove the bolt that is located on the rear side of the caliper, not the one holding the brake fluid line buth the one right next to it. Pry the brake pad holder off and then remove the brake pads themselves. You will need to press the caliper's piston in, to be able to fit new brake pads since new pads will be thicker.

SOURCE: Renault clio abs light comes on with vibration

How hard are you stepping on the brake pedal? What you are describing sounds like the ABS system activating. When you step on the pedal hard enough to engage the ABS the light will come on, in some cars it will blink. You will also feel the thumping/vibration in the pedal since the system works by repeatedly engaging and disengaging the brakes. If it is happening when you step lightly on the brakes then you may have a bad wheel speed sensor or possibly a bad or miss-adjusted brake switch.

Scenic 54 plate. What causes a loud screeching noise when handbrake applied and parking brake fault on dash?

noise when applying the park brake indicates metal to metal on the brake pads ( no brake linings )
Check out that area first before spending money on anything else
To get an exact diagnosis of the problem and to get a quote for the repairs, find an accredited brake specialist shop ( preferably one with Renault experience) and make an informed decision from that

Braking fault / stop lights are on and dont know if its just the fluid, or if i can at least drive it a bit till dealer. any help pls??

ck fluid if low add pump pedal if still on ck with flash light the brake pads you can see them through wheel if pads look real thin take in for brakes if pads ok and fluid ok and brakes seem to work take in as soon as can to be safe the brake light comes on only if fluid is low pressure is low or pads are low the abs system covers the rest.

How can ichange the disc brakes on a renault 19

Hi there, I have a few steps here to help you out:
  • With your hand brake ON, loosen the wheel bolts to hand tight, jack up front wheel, chock back wheels, and put axle stands/blocks in place (just in case) .
  • Remove wheel. Disconnect pad wear wire, it pulls out of the connector.
  • Remove lower caliper bolt (at the back of caliper at the bottom), need a 13mm ring spanner for head of bolt and 17mm to stop it spinning
  • Use a screw driver between the back of the outer pad and the caliper to raise the caliper back away from the back of outer pad. Pivot caliper upwards to rest on top of wheel disc (good idea to tie it up with some wire) .
  • Remove and discard old pads , clean out with wire brush and soft brush , don't breath in to much of the dust its nasty.
  • Fit new pads (remember pad wear sensor on inside pad), make sure that the pads are in contact with the disc , and the top of them sitting flush with the rim of the disc, don't force them into this position they should naturally sit there.
  • Lower caliper down into position, you may need to push back the piston further in order to make room for the new pads , do this with you hands or a small piece of timber. Keep an eye on the brake fluid reservoir , your pushing fluid back in so if its over full it may spill over. Refit lower caliper bolt (Renault say to replace this each time), and tighten. Reconnect pad wear sensor.
  • Pump brake pedal until normal brake pressure returns.
  • Remove axle stand/blocks, refit wheel and bolts, lower jack and tighten up wheel bolts.
Hope this helps...

How do i release the brake caliper pistons to be able to fit new brake pads on a renault trafic 08 van. thank you

Renault trafic brake calipers on the front can be pushed in with a G-clamp, but rear calipers need to be wound in, if you look at the piston it has notches for a winding tool!

On my renault scnic 05 model i have an warning light and it tells me to check the hand brake which i have done many times but the light will not go out i had let my battery run down in the could spell and...

hi from uk the brake indicator warning light you mention has two functions it indicates thet the h/brake is either on or not fully off ? and is also an indication of the brake fluid level is low this may be either your car has a brake fluid leak ? somewhere or more than likely considering age of car the brake pads/shoes are worn low resulting in the displacement of fluid from reservoir to take up wear of pads operated by calipers/cylinders ? also if pads are low ?thenyour car may have brakepads worn very low indicators on the actual pads these are wires fitted on pads this too is a most probable cause of indicator illuminating ? SO asap check the above i have mentioned b4 you continue driving for any distance

How to change the front brake pads on a v reg clio

The Renault clio should be easy,.jack up one wheel and remove the wheel and see what if any special tools will be needed. most have two bolts that hold the caliper to the back plate. The caliper hold the pads. Some of thes bolts are Allen head, some are Torq head, all are metric. some are held in with clips, remove the retaining pins and pull the clips out and the caliper comes out the front. Press the piston back into the caliper, so the new pads will fit over the rotor.
