I need a wiring diagram for my 2001 dodge caravan. I am in the process of installing an alarm for seat checks in the van (it's a day care thing) I've got all the buttons in, just need to know where the wires I need to tap into are located

You probably need to disarm the system, try locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key if you don't have the remote.

check to see if the van is equipped with a cabin air filter. these become clogged and hold the moisture that can cause an odor.

Carefully confirm first, that when you installed your new plugs that you also installed the plug wires to the correct plug.

If you've had to swap any of the wires around, start up the van to check for improvement.

if it was as simple as cutting one wire,the car thieves would only steal dodge caravans.....it is not a simple job as the computer has most of the sensors hardwired into it.....please get hold of a wiring diagram and see for yourself.

First you will need a transponder bypass modual for a 2001 dodge caravan with MUX output, if your ignition key is grey, you may also need a total of 6 resistors for this van depending on what features you want and at least 2 relays, then just follow the install diagram, if you run into ant problems you know where to find me, I have done dozens of thses vans so I know what will be required, if you need the bypass modual or any of the 6 resistors let me know

alarm wireing short

Go to your local automotive store and get a Haynes or Chilton repair manual. Be careful installing it, it can cause major probs with the other wiring in your van.

replace the ignition unfortunetly thats probably going to be the fix
