Fill with 5 gal of fuel, check fuel at motor , looks like tire valve, cover with rag and let evaporate if any comes out before starting

should not have to touch accelerator , is fuel present
check for spark
it might need more than 1 gal of fuel
check timing

Sounds like its flooded, remove plugs, replace if needed put small amount of oil down bores, clean out breathers and throttle body, put battery on charge and crank with foot to floor, will start eventually.

So does that mean because I revved it two or three times yesterday evening in my garage then switched it off, the engine management thinks it to cold or something today, and should I therefore keep cranking it with the accelerator pushed to the floor to start it, and how long before the battery goes completely flat, and is this worth doing if it doesn't start anyway?
I could smell fuel earlier, as if flooding, have tried several times to start the engine, but not for prolonged time, have also put a gallon in the tank, as the car is in the garage I can't get to my nearest open garage today.
I will have to look tomorrow as light is failing, I will check plugs and fuel then, thanks for your advice so far I'll let you know what I discover, is there anything else to look out for?
How do I gain access to the spark plugs?, Have checked and fuel is present
Spark plugs checked and cleaned, spark present, fuel system checked fuel present, air filter no obstructions, anything else before I try and start the engine, and do I really have to crank it over for 5 minutes please
