Loose wire connections must be checked first.
Here is the simple way to check if the battery is discharged: Turn the ignition on, with the engine off, switch the windshield wipers on. If they move way too slowly, much slower than usual, the battery is probably discharged.
As the battery is relatively new, it can be recharged. All you need to do is to boost your car and let the engine run for a while to charge the battery

SOURCE: alternator

Alot of systems dont have a battery listed for 2001 hyundai sonotas so they will give you what "fits". These can touch metal parts of the car and ground the battery to the car. It will act like alternator problem and eventually kill the alternator because its overworked. I had this problem. Walmart and Advance gave me wrong batteries. I didnt know until I took it to the dealer.

Don't go any less than the current battery is rated at. You can always go larger which means you will have more reserve current for accessories or cranking.
Good luck.

SOURCE: Not ready status on 04 Hyundai Sonata

The not ready may be for a HEATED O2 sensor and HEATED catalyst. Since these cars are not equipped with the HEATED versions, they would never be ready.

SOURCE: 2006 hyundai sonata died, we replaced the battery

Does it have anti-'theft?. If so, try this. with the key in hand close the doors. Put the key in door lock cylinder. Then lock the car. wait a few seconds (10-15) then unlock the car. Open door and try to start vehicle. You may have to do it 2-3 times. Lock-unlock sequence.

99 hyundai sonata brake light and battery light is on

I would recommend you take it to a shop and have the alternator tested, or take the part off the car and have it bench tested in a store.
You may also have a bad fuse or fusable link between the battery and the alt.

Replaced alternator and battery. Battery light continues to stay on-- battery will not hold charge. Fuse was checked and is ok.

Go to the battery positive terminal is ther a 30 or 40 amp fuse you ll have to visually inspect to see if its open, you also need to look in power junction box and look at the big green fuses some orange and some red the big ones not the small one, check to see if any are open more than likely the fuse are open

Battery tested no good, replaced it, next day battery wont start car, noticed blown fuse at postive terminal, replaced it, jump started car, working fine ...... Question, will that fuse prevent battery...

the fuse must be 'intact' for electrical system to operate properly.batteries are rated in months as far as longevity is concerned,36 mo. 60 mo. etc. if you have or have access to a volt meter, battery voltage should be 12 volts with engine off,13 to 15 volts w/ engine running indicates alternator is working.

After replacing the battery I have no power at all

Possible causes:
1. New battery defective. ( Open circuit between battery cells ) Seen it before, therefore, possible.

2. Battery terminals not making connection ( check terminals )

3. Battery has different polarity than the original battery. ( Positive post and the negative post are reversed ) They do sell the reverse battery, therefore, possible. Basically, a battery hooked up backwards.
That would cause the Main fuse to blow resulting the no power in the vehicle.
