Try swapping the nearside bulb with the offside bulb. If the fault moves with the bulb, then the bulb itself is at fault. Occasionally, halogen bulbs give a distorted beam pattern, and no amount of adjustment will fix it. Also, make 100% certain the bulb hasn't been inserted upside down. There is a locating tab on the bulb, so make sure it is sitting in the cut out in the bulb holder correctly.

SOURCE: burned out headlight/bulb bmw 1991 325i 2dr

It's a bulb replacement. If it's anything similar to my Audi, there is a cover on the back of the headlight housing that you pop off. Then you can reach in, pull the wire connector off the bulb, and unclip a metal retainer over the bulb, and pull the bulb out. Installation of the new one is the reverse. Just be SURE not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Skin oils can cause a halogen bulb to burn very hot and burn out very quickly. If you do touch the glass, wipe it gently but thoroughly on a cotton cloth to clean it off before you install it.

AIMING The head lamps should be aimed using a special alignment tool, however this procedure may be used for temporary adjustment. Local regulations may vary regarding head lamp aiming, consult with your local authorities.

  1. Verify the tires are at their proper inflation pressure. Clean the head lamp lenses and make sure there are no heavy loads in the trunk. The gas tank should be filled.
  2. Position the vehicle on a level surface facing a flat wall 25 ft. (7.7 m) away.
  3. Measure and record the distance from the floor to the center of the head lamp. Place a strip of tape across the wall at this same height.
  4. Place strips of tape on the wall, perpendicular to the first measurement, indicating the vehicle centerline and the centerline of both head lamps.
  5. Rock the vehicle side-to-side a few times to allow the suspension to stabilize.
  6. Turn the lights on, adjust the head lamps to achieve a high intensity pattern.

SOURCE: REPLACEMENT OF [LOW BEAM] HALOGEN BULB IN 2004 Buick LeSabre

I just Replaced a Low Beam Light bulb on a 2005 Buick La Sabre.

If You use a Metric socket and Remove the Two Silver bolts Attaching the headlight Assemble onto the metal surrounding the the lamp assembly it comes out to the front. This makes it much easier to access the bulb. Twist it counerclockwise & it comes out by pulling gently on the bulb. Then by realeasing a tab that is the socket holder bulb can be removed & replaced with a New #9006 low beam halogen light bulb. Wrap a Paper towel around the bulb & do NOT touch it with your bare hand as this wiil ruin a halogen bulb,

SOURCE: head / fog light adjustment

on each headlamp assembly, there will be either one or two plastic nuts that you can turn.

If you only have one nut on each, that will adjust the vertical aim of the headlights.

If you have two nuts on each, one will adjust the vertical and the other will adjust the horizontal.

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

2006 Volvo XC90 AWD V8 with H7 halogen headlights always displays 'headlight bulb failure' warning even though my headlights are both working fine. How do I fix this?

Try to check the bulb on the light unit the fault is given, checking the connector,or even renewing the bulb, probably the resistance of the bulb is down in bright but can not noticed. It had happened to a customer of mine on a BMW 528i ,even the lights were working fine,I renewed the faulty stated by the vehicle ECU and then the warning on the dash gone.

How do i wire up hid headlights on 2005 mazda 3

To wire up an HID kit on the low beams of your Mazda 3 2005, you will need 3-4 things:
1- HID kit (bulbs and ballasts)
2- HID relay (connects your hid kit to your battery)
3- 4700uF capacitor (solves DRL flickering issue)
4- H7 hid bulb adaptor (you can also use the rubber piece that holds the bulb wires as a spacer)

Wiring diagram:
http://www.carsets.co.uk/upload/temp/images/hid-light-installation-photo-display.jpg

Tips on How to wire up:
1. HID bulb's amp wires connects with the ballast's amp wires. (There's only one way to connect them.)
2. The positive and the negative spade connectors from the hid relay connect with your vehicle's low beam connector, closest to your battery: the driver side. The passenger side low beam connector is not used and should be insulated. You can use electric tape.)
3. Each ballast is connected to one of the relay's clip connector, and it's grounded on each side to your vehicle's body. (One connector for each ballast, one for each side. You can use the screw for the body as a ground.)
4. The red wire(with the inline fuse) in the relay connects to your battery's positive terminal.
5. The capacitor sits on the relay switch. (Google for how to wire the capacitor onto the hid relay switch.) dynoxg image
6. The halogen bulb sits on an adapter. You can safely remove them from each other, and use an H7 hid adapter instead.

Opel astra headlight adjustment

two screws on each headlight control the direction the headlights are aimed. One screw, usually at the top but sometimes below the headlight, adjusts the headlight up and down. The other screw, located to one side, controls the headlight from right to left. Turning the appropriate screw one direction or the other will change the direction the headlight points.
In order to aim your headlights you need to have a flat vertical surface you can aim your headlights at in front of a level surface on which to park the car. If your driveway is level your garage door is the perfect place to aim your headlights.
The tools you will need for this job are simple. Masking tape is used to mark where the headlights are to be aimed and a screwdriver is needed to adjust the headlights. A tape measure will be necessary to measure the distance of the vehicle to the surface you're using to check the aim and to measure the up and down distances from your marks

How to adjust halogen headlights on bmw z4

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

How do you change a headlight on a 2006 kia sedona?

Left front low or high beam headlight: remove battery, remove weather cap, pop-off 2-prong connector, depress spring holding bulb in position, use inspection mirror if necessary, one end of spring is caught beneath a lip, Move spring past lip and lift up, it will rotate upward and is fastened on opposite side. Remove old bulb, install new 55 watt halogen bulb (H7-55) available at Walmart. Install new bulb with tang in slot at bottom, fold over spring and depress to hook end under latch point, install 2-prong electrical connector, install weather cap, turn about 1/8 turn to lock into position. Reinstall battery, clean terminals and cable ends, place new no-corrode rings (available from Walmart) around battery posts, install cable ends, and tighten.

Right front headlights: not necessary to remove battery, otherwise same essential procedure.

Note: Lower and upper beams all use same H7-55 bulb.
