could be a bad sensor on the transmission. I forget the name of it but its near the front of the transmission. You will also have a sensor towards the back and I pretty sure that one is the speed sensor for the speedometer. Not real sure about the ticking sound

A "C" code is a chassis code, but I cannot find out exactly what that one means. Take the car to your local auto parts store and have them run a free diagnostic test on your OBD-2 on-board diagnostic computer and tell you exactly what the problem is.
Hello, Most of the switches still use the old method of having a thin nut threaded on the shaft of the switch to hold it to the dash. The trim is another matter and really I would try to go to a Salvage yard and remove this part from a wreck to see how it comes apart.
You can buy the switch all day long new. But you may break the moulding of the dash changing the part. Best to let broken parts happen on the junkyard car rather than your own.
??? fuel filter is under chassis between front and back wheels. it has a plastic cover...........oooohhhh..........fuel filter is mounted in the frame on drivers side. two clips hold the lines on and a hose clamp holds the filter to the frame.
