Needs codes for stock 2000 cavalier decks - 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier

If the aftermarket deck has a amp wire you will have to wire it into the lead that controls the amp relay. You will have to get the schematic for your electrical system to locate the 12 volt trigger wire for the relay that turns on the delco/bose amp. that way everytime you turn on the deck the amp will also turn on.

The old radio and the new radio wiring may be clashing. It seems that you may have to ground the radio manually...

Find the ground and wire it directly to the bolt that held the old radio to ground it and try that.

I would take the stereo deck out completely with the harness, un-wire it, and rewire it with a friend who is knowledgeable with this sort of wiring. Sometimes, even though no matter how confident you are with your wiring, mistakes are made. I would do this just to make sure, because if the speakers hum, they are using power and draining your battery. And besides, it's a free and easy step to take and it might work.

I have a subwoofer and great speakers in my car but prefer the stock deck.. less electrical issues... I was gonna put a new deck in this weekend but scratch that thanks to you :)

Unfortunately, you'll most likely have to contact the dealer. The codes are there for a reason.... So long as you can prove you didn't steal the thing, most dealers will help you out :)

You need to:

Wire the low level output from the new 'deck' into the stock amp input.

Or replace the stock amp with an aftermarket amp.

If you have not check the radio fuse in the fuse block under the dash or right side kick panel, i would do this asap. if its not the fuse, you may have a dead radio.

Probably wont be able to purchase a tool for airbag system very cheap. Generic scan tools are for engine management systems. Airbag system is separate. Recommend to go to dealer or trusted independant shop.

most gms you get to your rear speakers through the trunk instead of the back shelf. i don't know how to describe it but there's like a 'craddle' holding the speaker up in place.
