I have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee that has a vibration at 55mph, goes away at 60mph and returns at 65mph. The front end does not shake but it is very annoying. All other driving speeds are fine.

Inspect both tires and wheels making sure they are not bent, a good sign will be a bad scuff marks on the outer rims lip. sometime balance weight can fall off causing it to be out of balance, have it re-balance. check for defect and tires wears it will give you an idea if its out alignments. check tie rod bushing making sure is not worn and wheel bearing will usually make some noise but check it anyway.

Check your tire wear, have you changed tires on the vehicle if this started after a tire rotation it could be a pulled steel-belt/tread separation or from side to side rotation of tires, but normally that would create a pull to one side, if not check your CV joints if they havn't been replaced have them checked they can cause a vibe, it still sounds like a tire problem, chk tires for tread separation, steel belt stress, etc.have a tire co do a "run-out" gauge on the tires to chk for the above condidions

Shudders(shakes) at about 60mph

You may have worn out CV joints on the front wheel drive axles, they vibrate/shudder badly if they are really worn out.

98 chevy astro vibrates n shakes at 65mph

have you check the wheels. to see if there balanced right. if you jack it up and grab the top and bottom of the wheel and shack it does it move. that will be bad ball joints..check your tie rods.

1996 Jeep Laredo shakes between 55 and 65mph

You might take a close look at the ball joints on the front suspension/steering arms. I've had the same problem on another vehicle. Also you should check the front wheel bearings for loose play.

Might want to chk. the axel, or maybe wheel bearing, or caliper hanging up. Sounds more like axel or bearing bad.

Front End Steering problem

Here's the fix. Have all of the front end components checked for excessive play (tie rod ends, ball joints, pittman arm, and steering box) and replace any components that are worn. Also, REPLACE the steering stabilizer! It looks like a cross-mounted shock absorber attached to the frame and your steering linkage. These wear out and cause the exact condition that you've experienced.
