I'm trying to replace the passenger side front marker light on a 2007 Kia Spectra LX. (got the driver's side replaced---finally). The only way I can figure to do it is to remove the headlight assembly. How do I accomplish this? I can reach the socket and turn it but it won't come out. Feels like it's blocked by the frame that holds the headlight assembly.
I just replaced both front parking light bulb on my 2007 Spectra LX and was not easy !!!
It took over half hour to remove the first headlight fixture on the passenger side, I was really getting frustrated. So every time I was reaching the peak of my frustration I took time-out, about 5 minutes or so. Any-way Just to let you know it only took approximately five minutes to remove the driver side once I learned the trick...
The trick is in removing the front black plastic cover-panel held down by black plastic inserts-screws, this assembly is located under the hood above the radiator holding top rack, this is also the panel you'll need to remove to access your horns, just in case for future references.Once you remove the black panel your front upper mask assembly becomes more flexible, your head light fixtures are rubbing against the upper plastic mask assembly and that is why you can not remove it! With one hand push the mask assembly forward away from the head light and with the other hand push the head light out, it will come out. Careful, you must use the same method to re-install the head light. Remember you'll need to push very hard to allow the head light assembly free from the plastic aligning-connection. I hope this help any one with future challenges.
There is one bolt on top of the radiator support and another in back. The assy fits into a pluug that keeps it aligned so it cam be tough to remove. Just wiggle it side to side while pulling and it'll slowly come out.
Are you looking to fix the bulb that is in the corner of the headlamp? You don't need to remove the head light for that. The is a black cap that screws off just beind it.
