On a 1997 Chev. Monte Carlo with 3.4 V6 - engine hard to start and smells flooded when it does. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 trys to start. Only other symptom is a slight hesitation at highway speed when I let up on accelerator and then ease back into it like on a shallow hill. I notice tachometer drops dramatically then recovers. When this happens at lower speeds it sometimes dies before the rpm recovery and is usually hard to start again. Otherwise it runs great. Codes on OBDII show P0441 and P1655. What should I replace??
The PO441 has to do with your HO2S 2 (Oxygen sensor). You need to check to make sure the wire is not off of the sensor and check the grounds to the Oxygen sensor. Could be a bad Oxygen Sensor. The other code has to do with your Evap system Purge solenoid circuit. Has to do with detecting an improper voltage level. Could be a shorted Purge solenoid.
