Hi, Seat Toledo 1996 occassionally cranks, fires,

Hi, Seat Toledo 1996 occassionally (1 in 8 starts) cranks, fires, then stalls. Odometer reader (digital) shows IN02. This process can repeat a few times before starting (and running) normally. Other times the next start attempt is successful. Help appreciated.

Jeep 96 dies sometime going down the road and wont start sometimes. will start after 10 miles at times and 24 hrs sometimes. the dash says check gauges. help woman alone need advice

Fuel pump intermittent, check for fuel pressure before dropping the tank to renew pump.
Otherwise check electrical connection at battery, and make sure you do not have an open circuit.
Loss of connectivity could cause this issue, failed fuel pump sometimes work, but are not reliable.
You should see 30-45 psi at fuel rail, and the regulator should bump pressure 5 psi when reving the motor. Higher pressure indicates failed regulator.

1996 grand cherokee, turns over but will not fire as if no fuel, had full service done 1 month ago and started with being sluggish on start but if you turn ignition off and restart ok, now turns over but...

Try to check if some fault code is stored there, try self scanning the PCM (turn on, off, on, off, sna finally stay in ON ignition switch), note the codes in the odometer and sens ud details.

Keep in touch.

Car stalled as if key was turned off, no sputter (350cid engine). Cranks but does not fire. Have fuel pressure at in-mani, have spark. If spray starting fluid in throttle body, fires for a few seconds and...

my 5.7 is equipped with a cam sensor, a device that senses the motor turning and times the injectors to the firing order. if you do not have a code reader, or a diag. tool, then i'd suggest dragging it to a shop that has one. some things are easier to pay for than to do, if you don't have the right tool.

My 1996 pontiac grand prix will not start. The engine will turn over but it wont fire

May have to get a code reader for this one..... Bad coil, open wire on crank shaft sensor, fuel pump, are among possible problems..... Try a bit of starting fluid, not much of too often mind you!

ISSUE: After a 1-4 hour engine soak time, long crank times and/or long crank to start followed by a stall may occur on some vehicles. No further stalling or rough idle will occur after the engine is running. The long crank and/or stall may be due to the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve sticking.

1996 Dodge Ram 1500 kept stalling while driving now won't start

First off you can test the fuel pump 2 ways
1.have a assistant turn on the ign to on while you listen for the pump to run at the gas cap (gas cap off).
2.find the valve on the fuel rail looks like a a/c or valve stem, take the cap off and press the needle and if fuel comes out then it's not the fuel pump.

But from a lot of EXPERIANCE on dodge engines the stalling and restarting issue is ignition related i.e crank or cam sensor which will throw a diagnostic code of engine misfire xxx cylinders.

So If its one of those sensors then you will not have any spark, and staring fluids will not fire the engine.
As for the headlights flickering they get there power through a relay straight from the battery,so I would look at the relays under the hood and find the one for the headlights and swap it out with the horn relay as most of the relays will have the same numbers.

The crank sensor is about 70.00 and the cam sensor is about 50.
depending on where you get them (dealer or aftermarket)
the cam sensor is the round plastic thing under the dist cap,and the crank sensor is on the pass side under the head into the top of the transmission bell housing and it's a 2hr job to change because of it's location is really hard to get to.
Hint -take the breather off and place a rag over the intake and a board from the radiator core support to the intake to lay on,it has 2 10mm bolts and the wiring harness unplugs from underneath.
