Buick Rendezvous 2002
i replaced de bcm....(i did by me self) so now i have on the airbag light all the time...plus the radio display a message "lock"...i dont know if the new bcm need some codes?
The BCM needs to be programmed to operate the computer. a GM techII is now required to calibrate BCM to airbag, stereo, keyless entry, and control pcm data. This is required to make it all work. a gm service should have it done within an hour or less just call and ask them how much it would be to program new BCM. it might cost @$75 to $125 but it is needed, to allow the BCM to work properly.
Testimonial: "ok...i bought the bcm on line (used)...but the gays in the dealer says i have to buy a new one..because the used cannot be to reflashed...or recoded."
you can reflash some things, Your radio can be flashed, keyless and sir data link, but you will not clear the airbag codes tho. these will be vin coding that maybe locked, the only way to get it all to work is with brand new one for all the lights to work, options in the vehicle like hatch release may not work in your used BCM, But if the airbag light being on is ok for you then everything else should be able to be flashed and programmed. If you were in Oshawa I have tech II and would be able to program it for you. Good luck
