97 Avalon ABS lite on TRAC lite flashes, resets w/restart of car

My 97 Avalon has done the above 2X, with the addition of randomly not being able to get the car out of Park without pumping the brake pedal several times; I can feel the brake pedal "sink" finally and I'm able to put the car in gear. Very random situation.

Have your ABS system scaned for codes(intermtent code) as for the car not goin out of park when applying the brake, there is a level or linkage that works as a safety, this linkage may need adjustment.the linkeage goes from thr pedal(brake) to the shifter, some of the work thru a selenoid that gets activated when the switch is on.

Trac off light coming on

You have a check light or MIL Lamp on

Nothing new there

Same as any other vehicle issue

Check for codes & diagnose & repair ,in
your case, the ABS braking System & Trac Control

Anytime you have a transmission issue, you stop
using the vehicle immediately, just a few miles to get
home or to a shop is all you got, then the damage starts

The ABS lite, No Trac Lite and Service engine lite keep coming on

When the Service engine soon, ABS and TRAC lights are turned on at the same time the computer control units for the engine and the ABS/TRAC systems has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system and the ABS and Traction Control system (part of the ABS system). When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different or the car drive any different. There are about 200 possible faults that turn the Check Engine light on, the fault in your car is likely a part called the VSS sensor to know for sure what the problem is you must have the system tested; Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free

Trac control and abs lites both on

Sounds like you have a abs problem. The anti-lock brakeing system is part of the trac control. I you loose the wheel speed of one wheel (ie bad speed sensor) both lights will come on.

97 toyota avalon was running went dead while driving ,now wont start lights go dim,abs light and traction lights come on when jump started

Sound like you have a bad alternator, poss bad battery too.If you can jump start it with a volt meter check voltage at battery should have above 13.5 volts, do this after you unhook jumper cables and engine running. If bad voltage reading replace alternator make sure you charge battery before starting engine with new alternator or it could damage alternator. If good voltage have battery check.Hope this helped.

Abs light is on

This generally means that you have a problem with your brake system. I would try opening the hood and checking the brake fluid level on your Avalon.

2004 pontiac grand am gt

"...should not have to have to deal with these issues"

Agreed! But, there seems to be a glitch involving the ABS and TRAC system. On my 99 GAGT, when the eng and tranny are cold, I tend to get an ABS fail during turn/brake instances. If I restart the engine, it generally goes away. I've done a bit of research and have found nothing that fives a definitive answer to this. If you take it to the dealer, it will cost an arm and a leg for the troubleshooting alone. I'd recommend driving it as is provided you can get the ABS to reset by restarting the engine.
Sorry I can't provide any better solution...
