Valet key for a 1997 plymouth voyager stuck in ignition and can't remove. I wanted to move the van and couldn't find regular keys, so I used the valet key which I carry in my wallet. It felt a little funny turning it to start the van. Key would not turn all the way back to the release position. Do I need to call a locksmith to get it removed or is there something a do-it-yourself guy can do? Ron

SOURCE: Need to turn the valet switch off On 1999 Nissan Maxima

Look for alarm Brain box and look for wires coming out black and red going to valet switch. to turn valet on turn ignition in ON position and press-switch or flip depending on the type of switch. If it a basic alarm just disconnect the main wiring harness to alarm box- unplug and the car should start. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

You need to find a way to replace the lock cylinder. Will the key tap in all the way to turn it? That would make it easier to get the cylinder out.

SOURCE: My Plymouth Voyager 98 won't start but when the

Spray some wet grafite spray in the key slot,plenty of spray and work the key back and forth.Remove the battery cables and clean the battery terminals ,and the battery post real shiney,and put them back on.Make sure you have good battery voltage also.Don`t take it for granted that the battery is good,take it off and have it checked and or charged on a good slow(2 amp) charge.Now when you are sure the battery is good ,and the connections are good,then if the starter clicks,grab the shifter and pull it up and down without moving out of park,while you hold the starter engaged.If it starts then the neutal safty switch is bad.Now if it keeps on clicking(it will be the starter clicking)replace the starter.You can lightly tap the starter with ahammer while trying to start the van,and start it,but the starter will need to be replaced.If I can help you any further,let me know.>>>[email protected]

93 Plymouth Voyager will not start, the Fuel Pump isn't whirring when the key is turned.

You should always hear the pump. Check the electrical connections after you check to fuse.

We have a 1999 Plymouth Voyager and the speedometer stopped working and doesn't want to shift. The service engine soon light came on.

you have the ability to do a seft test on the vans computer. this will produce a trouble code.

insert ignition key in ignition and turn key as follows;

off-on, off-on, off-on ( "on" is when the dash lights come on and "off" is one click back from on)

The codes will either display on the odometer or flash out in pairs of numbers using the check engine light( 5-5 end of test). write down the codes. report back here with your findings.

Plymouth voyager. went outside this morning to put key in ignition to turn it and it wont budge. i tried moving the steering wheel back and forth, and the key in and out. i tried to blow hot air on it with...

It does sound like the ignition is bad. Try jiggling the key a little as you turn it. The parts in side may be or have worn out. Also, put your foot on the brake, put the car in neutral, and then try to turn the key. If this dosnt work then you need a new ignition.

Takes several ''cranks'' to start van

your ignition switch might be worn or the ignition circuit might have build up resistance due to age. Some cars refuse to start when these things happen. The fix for this is a new electrical part of the ignition switch.

Good Luck
