2000 Chevy Impala, alarm remote issues

2000 Chevy Impala, car won't start without disarming the alarm and my alarm remote/clicker is not working well. Can i disconnect the alarm system to start the car without using the alarm's remote? I've already silenced the alarm system but hesitant on disconnecting the alarm system completely.

Remote starter sounded like it shorted out- which caused the malfunction light to come on —2015 Chevy impala limited- is it a module replacement or short in wire going to battery possible

No probably not, someone other than an authorized alarm installer installed it and thats why you have an issue- the main issues is alarms and especially remote starts gains access to very powerful parts of your car and if connected and fused correctly would cause no damage to the car but will rarely fail. If in fact it is plugged up correctly then you have nothing to worry about unless it has a kill switch the car should operate normally without the remote start. If you do have a kill switch and the alarm was engaged and malfunctioned you may not be able to start your car without bypassing the remote start. Try looking for burn out fuse on the alarm fuse connections and the cars fuse box. don't buy an alarm module unless its the main control unit(another alarm) as this will not help- most alarm accessories are sensors most if not all the relays are in the main control box which is the alarm. good luck

My 2004 impala dashboard lights come on while driving it doesn't cut of but after I cut the car off headlights flash an clickin noise start what wrong with my car please help Loretta

Impala's are famous for ignition issues, are the interior lights of your dash coming on when you want them, or just by themselves? The clicking after you turn off, I would check the security system, i.e., remote clickers, cars computer, key chip, ect. Sound like your alarm is attempting to engage

On 2004 chevy silverado

Take the positive lead off the battery. Touch the battery with the lead on and off for about five to seven times. This should reset the alarm. Reconnect the positive lead and using the remote control for the vehicle alarm arm and disarm the alarm once before operating as normal.

I have 04 chevy impala. When I bought the car it came with and aftermarket alarm. Now it's giving me problem the remote is not working. I have to press a button on the remote to be able to start but it not...

the only fix for this is to have the aftermarket alarm removed out of the system. unless you can locate the manufacture of the alarm and purchase another remote.
