Charging system I have a 95 mustang GT 5.0 here is my problem I replaced my alernator about six months ago. About two weeks ago the battery light came on and the voltage dropped to 12.0 volts I took it to Advance auto parts on the way there the light would go off above and beloew 1500 rpm's but at 1500 it comes right back on the parts store tested the battery, charging and starting system they said everything looked ok. If it was ok the light wouldn't come sporadically. Any input would be greatly appreciated my email is [email protected] please help this is driving me nuts because I love this car.

Have the alternator checked for the internal regulator,if it works the way you say the alternator is defective,i have a 99 GT that had a similar problem and at the end the relay unit was the problem, just have the alternator check for the out put first.

Testimonial: "Thanks alot for replying. I have changed the regulator and brushes. It's still doing it could the alternator still be defective?"

2000 Mustang v6 dies in the middle of the highway less than 2 weeks after replacing alternator?

Are you saying it died because of battery or charging system? I've seen info that says generator rebuilders have a tough time with rebuilding ford generators. It's not uncommon for them to be faulty right out of the box. What testing have you done on your battery and charging system? Any applicable trouble codes? The problem might be something unrelated to battery and charging system. I mentioned the generator because you mentioned it.

Try replacing the "convinence control module" and bad board can cause all elec issues explained and also cause engine to cut out and other things but that is where I would start, hope this helps-

2006 mustang gt abs light and traction control light come on

First, the battery replacement indicates you have a short. Either something draining the battery, or a bad alternator. This explains the light problem too. Get the alternator and battery tested at a auto-parts store. All the rest will fall in place.

About 2 weeks ago i noticed a background hum from the alernator as I drove. The noise grew until three days ago when the battery would not turn over. I re-charged the battery and was able to start the

the hum is probably the alternator on its way out and is not charging the battery but check ur belt and make sure not to loose if u drive to one of the local auto stores most of them [like advanced auto-auto zone ]can do a free test on both and advise if replacement or repair needed

The alernator does not appear to be charging the battery, the car has not been used for three weeks, battery has been charged but battery light stays on,can this problem be fixed easily?

It sound's like the battery need's to be replaced, the alternator can't be checked without the car started, to check the alternator measure the voltage across the battery, it should read higher than the battery voltage. if the voltage on the battery stay's at 12 volt's with the car started the alternator is bad.

Battery Light

You probably need a new alternator and battery. If you have a DMM (Digital Multi Meter) Check the Charging system voltage at idle, it should be around 13.2 volts or above for a properly working Alternator. The battery voltage with the car off should be at 12.6 volts for a good battery. Check and replace as neccessary.

Fuses for 2002 mustang gt

There is no fuse for the alternator. If the alternator is working properly, it should charge the battery. Have you had the alternator tested? That is where I would start. Remember, just because it is new, doesn't mean it can't be broken.
