I have a 2011 Mitsubishi gallant, it started making a vibrating/buzzing noise from under the glove box. The ac doesn't affect it at all and it makes the noise from the time you start the car until turning it off. Any idea what it could be?

I will have to see if it makes a difference today, but I'm pretty sure that it sounds the same whether circ is on or not.

This sounds like a recirculating air door actuator with stripped gears, listen for a change in sound when you move from recirc to outside air, when on recirc the noise inside the vehicle will be greater than when on outside air. Remove the glove box to look at it I hope this helps. Take care.

SOURCE: Lexus RX300 buzzing behind/under glove box

Sure the culprit is in the HVAC system. The cover under the glove box needes to be removed to look and see theres a relay panel and motors that move the air doors inside the duct work the motors are on the out side and can be diffacult to change so even if your going to hire the work done it might be nice to look first so you'll know if your talking to a person that should do this work for you Quizzing the professional sales person at your local auto parts store you'll find the person that they know that buys the parts that fix these things if he buys lots of this kind of part that shop is likly to have a person that can go right to it and fix it cheap and quicker than someone puzzeling over the repair manuel and trying difference things with your money

SOURCE: 2005 pontiac vibe just started making like &

you have a bad actuator motor or a broken blend door in the heater box, the noise you hear is the skipping of the gears in the actuator motor, the ehating system along with ac use motors to move doors inside the heater box, the doors control the flow of the air and the temp, you will need to locate the bad one by unplugging one at a time, when noise stops you have the right one, remove it by removing screws that hold it to box. with motor removed look at the hole that controls the door, you will see a small square that the motor turns ,this id part of the door hinge, you should be able to turn side to side, this swings door left and right like a rood door, open or closed, if the door swings good then the actuator is bad, let me get a picture to help you located it, you will located the heater box in the location of the noise, behind glove box, try to acess from the bottom of the dash and also remove glovebox, hope this helps, good dayjohnjohn2_96.jpg

Try starting the truck so it makes the noise.
Then switch the air control to "fresh".
If noise stops, it is probably the motor that closes flap to recycle the cab air.
It would be found under the dash, under the glove box, & would need to be replaced.

Vent Control Noise Behind Glove Box

The noise is coming from the blend door motors.
All of the climate control doors (vents, defroster, temperature, recirculation etc) are controlled by electronic motors. As the motors age they tend to make a buzzing noise when they move.

There is a software upgrade that is available to minimize the noise, but it will always make the noise to some degree.

Hope this helps.

Honda heater makes loud noise

ok well its possible there may be something stuck in the blower motor under the passenger side dash. ..or the blower motor itself could be on its way out, sometimes leaves or sticks from trees and even stove inside the glove box can find their way into the windshield cowling and into your blower motor..u can remove it to check by unplugging its white connector and remove the 8mm bolts that secure it into the heater core box..its very easy to remove..the 8mm bolts / screws should also have a phillips head on them...

92 Accord Buzzing Sound below Glove Box

well that's where your ac blower motor is. you may have something wedged in it smacking the blades on the wheel or the bearings in the blower motor could be going out but that would making more of a hum or a grinding noise.
