Went 4 wheeling, crossed a river and got to the other side and fj cruiser died and won't start. Am not stuck in desert and too rough to tow back, so will have to hire a mechanic to drive an hour into the desert - sure that will cost a lot.

My 2005 PT Cruiser shows error codes P0508, P0688, and P0522. Sometimes it runs well, and other times it runs rough then dies and won't start back.

this obd2 trouble code table can help u understand the meaning of code.
po522, the possible solution:
The most likely cause is a faulty oil pressure sensor/switch.
for p0688, you can Check all the ECM fuses, if the fuses are OK try replacing the ASD relay.

I have a 2002 pt cruiser touring. I was driving and the oil light came on and then the car slowed down and died on me. It won't start and it sunds like it wonts to but it won't and the oil light...

Don't try start the engine when the oil light turn on, it would harm your piston, camshaft and crankshaft
It should be the oil pump has broken and need to replace, tow your car to the nearest service center

Timing mark for toyota fj 62 3f petrol engine

Look on the back of the engine, on the same side as the plugs & distributer. There is a rubber cap on the fly wheel, and the timing marks are in there. Good luck!

Shaking with engine light and VSC Off lights turned on

If just found this on another forum:

A few days ago I started the Cruiser and had 4 indicators stay lit.
They were the CHECK ENGINE...SLIP INDICATOR..VSC TRAC..VSC OFF.
Didnt noticed any change in driving and 4-wheel drive is still working.
I removed the negative cable from the battery and the same indicator lights have NOT come back. Everything is back to normal as far as warning lights go. Should I take it in to the service center and have it checked.
Or should I wait to take it in, if it does it again?
