Hi, Need help with a diagram for the starter location on a 1993 Saturn SC2 2door. I have an automatic start and car alarm system. I believe I may have a loose wire or connection, as she is acting up. She'll start for a few minutes rev the starter for longer then necessary and then stall. She's controlled with a remote, but changing out the remote doesn't change anything. I'm worried about burning out my starter, as it won't take much at this rate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your help, Colleen.

Sounds as if the starter is going bad or the remote sensor is not understanding the vehicle has started but if you are trying to locate the starter simply follow the battery red or + positive cable down to the starter itself always located at the bell housing between the motor and the transmission

Where is the starter relay located on a 1996 saturn sl1

Does not have a starter relay , When turning to key to start ,the ignition switch sends battery voltage through the park neutral safety switch ,for automatic transmissions or the clutch switch for manual trans . right to the starter solenoid . If you have a automatic trans try putting the gear selector into neutral . an see if it starts then . Have someone try an start it while you check for battery voltage at the starter solenoid S terminal . If it has Battery voltage at the S terminal ,voltage drop test the main B+ cable to the starter .

Where exactly is the Inhibitor relay located on my 2005 Frontier 2WD 4 cyl.

Hi Mmmax, Sounds to me as if you have a problem with the vehicle anti theft unit. Try disconnecting the battery for about three minutes and then hook it up again. If that does not work you will likely need to have the unit re-encoded. Regards John

What is an engine control module on a 1993 saturn sl

Can you clarify a little better . does not crank ??? As when you turn the key to the start position nothing happens ? The starter does not engage an spin the engine ? Control module has nothing to do with that . Park neutral safety switch maybe, ignition switch possibly, main B+ cable from battery to the starter solenoid. If you would look at a wiring diagram to see what all is involved in the starting system on your vehicle an testing the starter electrical circuit's . Doing voltage drop testing on the starter main B+ circuit .. Starter Voltage Drop Don't keep changing out the starter , that is not it. Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model and engine size. Under system click engine ,then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link. Now look at the wiring diagram ,DO YOU SEE A CONTROL MODULE any where on that diagram ??????

Saturn sl2 automatic...put a starter in..still won't start..all dummy lights up and battery is good...go to turn the key and nothing...help..

Most of the time this is caused by the anti theft system. It disables the starter and leaves you stuck. This is very common on GM vehicles. Read up on this link for info, pictures, and "do it yourself" solutions to the problem.

Car will not crank

If you can locate the starter, tap on it with a hammer a couple of times then try to start up.It may take several tries but it should work eventually because a starter doesn't usually fail 100%.If you can't locate it call around, someone will tell you for free because they want your business.Dealer,shops,whatever.Good luck!

1993 1.9 saturn sc2 starting problems

Sounds like the the Bendix is bad in the starter, which pushes out the drive gear to engage the flywheel. You'll need to replace the Bendix or the starter. It's a bit tough to get to the starter, it is underneath the intake manifold.
