Yes there is a sensor located in the coolant tank.It should be located at the bottom of the tank,on the left side.Look for a plug in with two wires to help you locate the sensor.
The sensor cost's around $8 to $10 to replace it.

Yes the sesor is in the radiator side tank, they are real junk, nothing but problems with false indications of low coolant

Radiator warning light is appearing

Open up car bonnet and check your radiator coolant, it’s probably coolant leaks and causing low coolant level.

My Volvo S60, 2002, 2.4T, keeps on coming with low coolan level, i fill everytime i drive. But soon as i stop, much of the water overflow from the expansion cap which is cracked. What could be the...

thermostats do not keep water in a radiator
There purpose is to maintain the correct coolant flow rate so as to maintain correct engine operating temp
The cap will be the problem if it is a radiator cap/ pressure cap
always check coolant level in the radiator
take it to a radiator shop and have cooling system pressure test dine to check for leaks

Low coolant level warning keeps coming up on information station not low on coolant. Where is sensor located or other related problems? Thanks.

You probably do not need a sensor. The coolant when it gets old in this car WILL cause the low coolant light to come on! Boy! I have been there on those vehicles soooo many times working for the dealer. The first one I encountered threw me for a few days before I FINALLY flushed out the cooling system and solved the problem. Somehow the coolant when it gets old it looses its conductivity and the sensor can not sense the coolant level is above its level. This vehicle does not use a FLOAT type sensor. It is a conductivity sensor. Flush the cooling system (unless you already have) and the problem SHOULD be gone. If not then you can change the sensor ok? The sensor is located on the passenger side of the radiator facing the engine about 1/4 the way down from the top. Be careful not to break the plastic retaining fingers that hold it to the radiator. Lube the o-ring that seals the new sensor before installation with some vaseline or silicone paste but try not to get too much into the cooling system itself.
Good Luck! Scott

Vw jetta iv, temperature alarm sounds and flash with no aparent reason. temperature dial indiator is ok.

I WOULD CHECK BOTH RADIATOR HOSES TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE HOT. THERMOSTAT COULD BE STICKING SLIGHTLY CLOSED.CHECK COOLANT LEVEL MAKE SURE COOLANT NOT LOW.IF COOLING NOT BOILING OUT OF THE EXPANSION TANK. I WOULD HAVE CAR HOOKED UP TO A DIAGNOTIC SCANNER AND CHECK COOLANT TEMPERATURE SEE IF TEMP. OVER 230 DEGREES IF SO RADIATOR COOLING FANS NOT WORKING.COOLANT THERMO SWITCH BAD BOTH FANS SHOULD BE RUNNING AT LOW SPEED.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY LOW COOLANT SENSOR IN EXPANSION TANK.MAKE SURE COOLANT IS IN THE EXPANSION TANK BECAUSE COOLANT LEVEL COULD BE LOW.ADD COOLANT IN THE EXPANSION TANK UNTIL YOU AT MAX LEVEL LINE ON THE EXPANSION TANK.DONT OVER FILL THE EXPANSION KEEP ADDING COOLANT UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL STAYS AT THE MAX LEVEL LINE ON THE EXPANSION TANK.

My 2000 Chevy Venture is setting off its "coolant low" warning. Sometimes it flashes, sometimes its just on, sometimes its OK. It seems to come on when the engine is hot. The fluid levels are normal and...

These sensors do go faulty quite often on GM cars. Replacing it is easy and inexpensive as well. Very littl amount of cooland will be lost when changing this sensor

How do I change the coolan sensor in a 2002 Monte

the low coolant sensor is on the side of the radiator about 3 04 inches below the radiator cap. Yuo can unclip the wire and then there is a clip I think or it may just push in with an o ring around the nipp;e. So you will have to wiggle it out. I have the same problem. I just unplugged the damn thing. (disconect the wire)

The low coolant level light keeps coming on on my 1995 camaro z28. I have replaced the radiator, thermostat, and coolant level sensor. That I know of, there are no leaks. What do I do?

Replace the low coolant sensor right side if radiator. When you replaced the radiator
they may have installed the old sensor.

I had the same problem.

My 94 Z28 has a radiator low level light.

There are a few things that can cause this. The fluid level sensor located in the radiator accumulates scaling over the years. The scaling prevents the sensor from detecting the fluid level. One thing you can try is to use a wire with alligator clips on both ends. Clip one end to the sensor area of the radiator and the other to the battery ground or engine block. Leave it in place for a few days and see if helps.
Let me know.
