The fuel filter should be inline just after the fuel tank , look under chasis next to but in front of the fuel tank , should be in a clamp bolted to the frame or unibody subframe in your case ... Hope this helps...

The Fuel Fiter should be located in the coupling between the fuel line and the carburator.
Under hood, center, upper engine area, front side of engine block, mounted in fuel line
