Yes the ac is working because the back blower, blows cold air

It only blows cold air in the rear, but not on the front vents. I also touch the low pressure lines & they are cold. So I know that the compressor is working.

Ok, missed the part about the rear ac working, the part that causes this is called the air temperature control blend door actuator motor, it is an electric motor driven gear drive that moves the plastic door inside the air ducking to mix or shut off the hot or cold air from the ac evaporator core or the heater core, you will need to replace it.

the blend door actuator is between the heater core and the evaporator core, to replace it you must remove the entire dash Assembly

I have a 2000 - the rear air is just a blower - it's not hooked up to the actual AC - just blows the cold air from front to the back

2003 Dodge Durango SLT, A/C Problem

The rear A/C system in the Durango has its own AC and heater core like the front system does. There is a plastic flapper valve back there that either directs the air to one or the other depending on what you have selected up front.

While the part is not too expensive, the labor to get there requires removal of the interior panel on that side which is not fun. It can be done though.

A/c front blower is warm, but rear blowers are fine

This is a common problem and the solution usually is that the fron thermostat is usually gone and needs replaising. Shouldn't be too much money to get done. It's just not opening up to let the cold air pass into the from area but the rear one is working fine which allows it to blow cold air.

Check your owners manual, and locate the fuse for the front blower motor.Pull the fuse and see if it is blown, If not check for power (+12 v )and ground at the motor plug-in located close to the blower motor.

It sounds like you have a blend air door stuck. This is in the housing of the heater a/c blower unit under the passenger side of the dash. There is a motor on the top of the housing that could possibly be stuck or on working.

No rear heat

The rear vent system has a separate heater core/blower system. heater core could be plugged up or the coolant lines going to rear heater core are plugged. could also be low coolant/faulty water pump not producing enough pressure, or air in the cooling system which will need to be bled if so.
