Car cuts out whiles driving and does not start for a while

im pretty sure if you have someone check the engine computer for fault codes youll find either a po335,po725 or po340.these relate to failures with your crankshaft and camshaft position sensors.relatively inexpensive fix at the outset 250.00 to replace both.i would recommend replacing both as they are identical sensors and acommon source of trouble on these models.

Trouble codes PO725 and PO335, car jerks hard during steady speeds on highway intermitently I am told the speed sensor by local parts stores and a revolution sensor by my local dealer. I am not sure which...

Nissan has reproduced the crank sensors installed in all altimas 2004 and up. it was deffective. Its also sort of difficult to access. take off the intake tube, dissconnect the throttle body connector. and reach to the bottom of the engine right next to the motor mount.take the connector off and see if the feel for oil. There will most likely be oil on the connector. Replace sensor
