1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee power window wire broken

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Is there a disconnect point for the main wiring harness inside the actual door frame where it connects to the rubber boot? I've already removed the door panel and disconnected that wiring. The black wire for the power windows is cut flush with the door and i need to create some extra length in order to reconnect. Any time or trouble saving solutions?

Your best way in is through the kick panel on the side. I generally solder an additional length of wire on and before connecting to other end, slide a piece of thin tubing (like washer fluid line) over it. After soldering the other end, slide the tubing over the repair and put a dab of silicone or other glue on the wire just before you have it all the way in position. Doing this protects the repair and the wire from further failure.Make sure you secure any extra wire inside the door where the window regulator won't grab it and tear it out.

Why won't my windows roll up. All went out at same time. I hope it's just a fuse, but don't know. This is a 1995 Jeep Gtand Cherokee with over 2,00,000 miles.

If it is not the fuse, then it is probably the wiring harness leading to the driver's door. If the main driver's switch has no power, then none will work.

License plate lights do not work on my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Wd. I cannot find a diagram that says which fuse controls these. Lamps have been changed and are new.

They are tied to the entire running/parking lamp circuit. I suspect a broken wire or a bad ground. Inspect the harness up where the liftgate hinges are for damage, Peel the wrap off and wiggle the wires and see if plate lamps flicker.
Or, pull the inside liftgate panel off as needed to see the wire colors. Using a test light, work your way up the harness on those color wires until you find power. You may find the lamp sockets are burnt and crispy.
Or, go get an aftermarket LED light(white light) and wire it into the running lamp circuit.
Hope this helps.

Hey i have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee in my power windows are stuck open. i have replaced the circuit breaker but that did not fix the problem.

This happened with my '94 Grand Cherokee. I found it was a wiring issue in the door. If you look where the door connects to the body of the Jeep itself (while the door is open, of course) you will see a protective boot going from the side of the door to the side of the lower dash. In that protective boot, you will find a wiring harness with a **** load of wires (all color coded for convenience). You may find that you have some wires that have broken/shorted out in that wiring harness. We had to cut the protective boot off to access those wires so we could repair them. And then wrap the wires, once repaired, with electrical tape to protect them. The best part about this wiring harness is that it does come out. (It basically "plugs" into the door and into the lower side of the dash.) The bad part about this wiring harness is, that if you decide you want to replace it, a new one will cost about $350. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

My 2004 jeep grand cherokee has issues with windows rolling down and the automatic door locks.. Neither will work on any door. The sunroof will roll back however.

Had a similar problem... the wiring harness that goes inside the drivers door had a broken wire, hence no power would go to the door locks or the power windows. Check the area where the harness flexes when the door opens and closes.

Power windows won t work

There are broken wires in the wiring harness between the frame and your driver's side door. These wires control all the windows and door locks in a 95 Jeep. Same thing happened to me. You will have to cut the rubber boot to get it off and check which wires are broken and repair them.
