My 2002 trailblazer is making a clicking noise in the a/c

When I turn the vehicle on it makes a clicking noise in the dash and blows air through the in dash vents. Within 15-20 seconds the clicking stops and the air flow switches to defrost or floor vents. I am seeing that one of the vent actuators may be bad. Where are they located? How do I get to them?

My 2002 TB a/c works for 20 min. Then does not. Checked , no leaks, clutch turns, condenser clicks until blowing hot air, replaced low pressure switch

Something to check because this has happened to me.....Make sure you have enough coolant in the radiator/overflow tank. IF the engine is running hot, the thermal switch on the AC compressor will turn it off to protect the compressor from overheating and damaging it. Don't go by the guage in the dash, it's usless. Hook up a scan tool and get the exact temp. Shouldn't be over 210 which is normal operating temp.

AC issues

The problem is either an actuator or the door associated with it. Sometimes the gear strips, especially when the system goes thru a recalibrate after power has been removed and reapplied. Below is a diagram of the locations of the actuators.

Loud clicking noise from dash whenever heat

I have and 2002 with rear air and had the same noise and problem in the back. There is motor in the back that moves a flapper door open and closed to blend the hot and cold. The motor has plastic gears in it and they strip out making a clicking noise when the motor cannot hit the point that the heat control dial is being set too. Probably the same set under the front dash. You will more than likely need to by a new motor assy.

2002 trailblazer making loud humming noise when driving

When you turn right - you're taking weight off the right wheel.
If the noise dissipates - the passenger side wheel bearing is most likely to blame.

Thanks

Have a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer that the air conditioning will blow cold on long trips but stops blowing cold air in stop/start traffic? A clicking sound is heard coming from under the dash when it...

It sounds like you maybe low on freon and your a\c compressor is kicking in and out at lower RPM's because of low pressure, then you build enough pressure to keep it running at higher RPM's.

Air conditioner on 2002 Pontiac blowing hot air, although freon is not low...also makes a clicking noise.

Take it to a garage and have them evacuate the system and refill with refrigerant. you have air and non condensibles in the refrigerant system.
