Have put another motor in our prelude and we have power to everything but no spark going to spark plugs. Have put a new distributor on it. What could be wrong? Could it be computer related?

Yes it could but before you replace the ecm or computer module check to make sure you are getting power to the computer it could be in the system between the ignition switch and the computer do you have the manual for it ? if not go to auto zone.com and look it up it should give a wiring diagram for your car also was this new engine out of another car? if so you may need to go back to where you got it and get the computer from that car they vary depending on options and features. reply to [email protected]

86 prelude 2.o SI has no spatk and no PGM-FI light. how do I test the circut for that light

if you have changed the distributor cap, rotor button, spark plug wires and plugs and you still dont have fire then its most likely your distributor.first check the fuses or relays if you have replaced those items.

Motor is missing(shakes). I put spark plugs in it. No help.

any number of things can be bad on a car that old, and you can't put more money into it than it is worth, which is about 300 bucks if running well. i would suspect the plug wires, and the distributor/cap/rotor if it has that type of spark delivery. if fixing up the ignition does not help, I would get the compression checked before anything else.

1997 Honda Prelude 177K. I have done the

Unfortunately you probably need a new distributor. There are three pick-up coils mounted down inside the base of it. They go bad quite commonly. The unfortunate part is; the new distributor will come with a new cap, rotor, coil and module...which you have already bought. The distributors are not that expensive though, maybe you can sell the extra parts???

What order do i plug the spark plugs into the distributor on 1989 honda civic 1.5L

The plug wires are different lengths for different spark plugs. The best way to not get messed up is to do one wire at a time. Unplug old wire from distributor and plug, compare it to the new ones, find the new one that is the same length and replace. You don't want to get the wires mixed up. Hope this helped.

1989 Honda Prelude won't start

I suspect that your spark plug wires or your distributor is going out. Check your spark wires and distributor. To do that take out #1 spark plug wire from the spark plug. Next take out your spark plug then put it in the spark plug wire. Then turn on car and take a look at the spark plug to see if it's getting a spark. Do this with all the spark plug. If it is your spark plug wire I would replace all of them.
