CARBURETOR
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Carter YF/YFA
Remove the air cleaner.
Tag and disconnect all hoses leading to the carburetor.
Disconnect the control shaft from the throttle lever.
Disconnect the in-line fuel filter, pullback spring and all electrical connectors.
Remove the carburetor mounting nuts and lift off the carburetor.
Remove the carburetor mounting gasket from the spacer.
Clean all gasket mating surfaces on the spacer and carburetor.
Install a new gasket on the spacer, then install the carburetor and secure it with the mounting nuts.
Reconnect all vacuum hoses, fuel lines and electrical connectors. Connect the control shaft and pullback spring.
Install the air cleaner and adjust the curb and fast idle speed as previously described.
Rochester 2G/2GV
Remove the air cleaner.
Disconnect:
Accelerator linkage.
Vacuum hoses.
Return spring.
PCV hose.
Fuel line.Remove the carburetor holddown nuts.
Remove the carburetor and mounting gasket.
Clean all gasket surfaces thoroughly.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Always use new gaskets. Tighten the nuts in a criss-cross pattern.
Autolite/Motorcraft 2100/2150
Remove the air cleaner.
Disconnect:
Accelerator cable.
Vacuum hoses.
Pullback spring.
Choke clean air tube.
Solenoid wire.
PCV hose.
Fuel filter.Choke heat tube.
Remove the carburetor holddown nuts.
Remove the carburetor and mounting gasket. If an EGR spacer is used, remove this also and its gasket.
Clean all gasket surfaces thoroughly.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Always use new gaskets. Tighten the nuts in a criss-cross pattern.
