Coil goes bad as soon as I turn the key in the ignition.

My ignition coil in my 1993 Toyota Camry went out, so I replaced it. About 4 months later it went out again, so once again I replaced it, only this time as soon as I turned the key there was nothing, so I checked the spark and there was none. After some checking I found that the primary coil resistance once again measured wrong so I took the coil back to the auto parts store and they replaced it. This time we checked the resistance while I was there and the coil was good. I got home put it in the car and again turned the key and the engine turned over but wouldn't start. Once again the primary resistance was bad. I then changed the igniter, ignition switch, and distributor and once again as soon as I turn the key the primary coil goes to 0 ohms resistance. The plugs and wires were changed when the first coil was put in the car, I am now at a loss as to what to check next, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bad coil pack

If your truck has spark plug wires, you will want to change those as well, as a bad wire can cause an ignition coil to short itself out internally.

30amp AM 2 fuse blows as soon you turn on the key & car will not start

This is common about this time on these Camrys. I own three. The AM2 fuse is blowing because a coil, capacitor, or supressor has gone bad in the distributor. To test this disconnect the two wire connectors to the distributor. Replace the AM2 fuse. Turn the ignition. If the fuse doesn't blow. The distributor.

94 toyota camery 4 cyl wont start Ichecked the fuel injectors there ok checked fuel pump works fine replace distributor cap and the ignitor but I dont get a spark at the sparkplugs.henrys

check all efi and ign fuses first...then check pickup coil and ignition coil in distributor w/ ohm meter...since you already replace the ignitor, then mostly likely it's the pickup coil or ignition coil...buy the whole

I removed my spark plug wires and forgot which wire goes with which plug for a 1998 toyota camry.

moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.pngmoz-screenshot-2.pngThe firing order is 1-3-4-2

Number one is the one at the pulley end of the motor and number 4 is at the flywheel end of the motor.

System uses a Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) with 2 ignition coils. Cylinders No. 1 and 4 use the same ignition coil. Cylinders No. 2 and 3 use the same ignition coil.

I just had my ignition coil changed on my 4 cy Toyota Camry...and after 5 months of driving it went out again. Its starts but does not turn over...could this be the same problem with the coil or something...

Prob. a bad coil or the wireing harness came un pluged from the coil. To check for fire, pull a plug wire off the coil and spin the motor over. Hold the end of the wire next to the coil where you un pluged it. There should be lighting jumping from the coil to the wire.
