How long should I be able to expect my brakes and rotors to last? I have a two year old car with less than 30,000 miles on it. 2007 Saturn Vue. I don't know what the Green Line is supposed to mean but it is front wheel drive

It all depends on your driving conditions if you have a lot of stop and go traffic everyday you will wear them out alot faster than highway travel. generally a good set of brakes especially original brakes should last about 50,000 miles if not driven to hard or under extreme conditions, most rotors can be machined atleast once before having to be replaced with new ones unless your vehicle runs composite rotors they will have to be replaced everytime you have new pads installed.

Average brake pad life is about 40 - 50 K. If you drive in city traffic a lot, 40,000 is tops.
Do you use 2 feet to drive? Big no-no with disc brakes.
Very slight pedal pressure causes the brake pads to rub the rotor all the time you are driving. Only way to avoid that, is to use one foot on the brake.

I have a 2007 Saturn Vue greenline. Came with a 5 year/100k mile warranty on hybrid components. Last summer the hybrid batteries were replaced under a recall. I now have error codes reporting problems with...

No Normally The 5 Year/1000k Warranty Is Exempt After That Duration. But If You Have Documentation Of The Battery Swap Due To The Recall It Should Have Been Recorded! You Would Have To Contact A GM Dealer To See If They Will Honor It !! I Hope This Help's As It Is Important To Keep All Receipts!!

325 ci brake rotors have been replaced 4 times in 6 years

BMW rotors are not known for lasting very much more than 30-45k miles. When the brakes are inspected, they measure the pads using a special tool threw the outer brake pad. Min spec is 3mm. When the pads are replaced, they measure the thickness of the rotors. The rotor spec is stamped on the rotor. if they are under that spec, they recommend replacing them as well. Next time you bring it in for service, just ask them to measure the rotor thinkness, (its not a huge task, all they have to do is take the wheels off). But more often than not, the rotors wear just as fast as the pads.

2003 saturn vue

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but mine failed at 29K and became undriveable at 31K and after years of hard handling, I treated that car like it was Christmas tree ornaments, fully expecting it to last until I am dead; the engine failed at 57,600. It's gone and I'm still breathing. It was the last GM anything I will ever own.

Rear wheel/brake noise

first check condition of discs and pads if all is good drive and pull up handbrake slowly to see if its the handbrake shoes making the noise if still a problem will most probably be rear wheel bearings

2004 Saturn Vue Brakes

The vibration is caused by the rotors being warped. Remove the front tires and check the front brake pads. Replace if needed. This is a pretty straight forward job. The rotors are "fall off" rotors and you won't need anything special tool wise.
