The fuse is the main fuse to the vehicles power supply just the same as removing the battery cable . you have a drain in your electrical system , use a test light , remove the possitive cable from the battery and hook one end to the battery and the other to the cable remove fuses till the light goes off ( make sure all doors are closed and switches turned off) that is your drain source . do no remove the 50 amp fuse in this test .

BATT fuse dead short in 1995 yukon

You don't need to replace the fuse box , an you don't have a dead short to ground ! The fuse would blow ! You have a parasitic drain on that fuse . You need to go to http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams an power distribution diagrams , see what all other fuse's are feed from that an pull them out one at a time till the draw stops. There are some good videos on youtube showing how to do this ! How To Perform Parasitic Draw Test EricTheCarGuy You'll need a DVOM !

Need to know where the under dash fuse box gets it's power for a 1998 honda civic cx

All fuses get their power from the battery. The under dash fuse box is no exception.
In the under-HOOD fuse and relay box, there will be a 'Master' fuse that sends power to the other components. This will be a 50 or 75 Amp fuse. Check every fuse you see in that under-HOOD box, and one of the mains is probably out.
You'll need to find out why it blew, because there is definitely a reason when the big ones blow. It's a major short circuit.
Did you replace a starter, or alternator, or battery before the problem bagan?

Hooked the battery up backwards

There is a big fuse in the battery junction box (the fuse box under the hood) that is labeled BATT or ALT or MAIN. It'll be a large fuse 60-100 amps. It is likely bolted to the wires so you'll have to open the little access doors on the side of the fuse box to remove the bolts. Be sure you do this with the battery un-hooked.

Equniox batt feed

Nowhere ---without factory wiring diagrams

You can spend big bucks, as I do for all my
vehicles, for the last almost 50 years & order
something of value you can actually use from
Helm.Com

You need a good VOM Meter & use MilliAmps
to look for current drains

You can not work on any product without reference
material & continually educating yourself on how things work

I assume the battery runs down?

Batteries only last 4 to 7 years

The test light only told you that you removed a fuse
& no longer are dropping voltage across your test light
bulb. You may be doing the right thing but have to
understand what your doing or what the results should be

I never walk to vehicle without a meter & wiring diagrams,
whether or not they are used

Hooked up spare battery to the wrong terminals now have no power at all lights still work but no dash lights? what could it be is there a fuse that might have blown or something worse?

Under the hood is a fuse box. In this box is going to be a large fuse (between 60 and 100 amps usually) and it may be labeled 'main', 'alt', or 'batt'. This is the fuse that runs from the battery to the main power of the vehicle. When you hook a battery up like that it blows this main fuse. You'll need to replace that and any other fuses it blew out.

Battery was dead. -30 celcius outside. Boosted battery and truck started. After driving for a while, went to turn off truck, and with ignition switch off and key out, engine still ran as if the key was in....

I suggtes check in the Power Distrbution Box (under hood), the power distribution box, trailer tow and electronic shift on the fly relay blocks are located in the engine compartment near the brake master cylinder.

Look position 20, 50AMP (Maxi Fuse) for Ignition Switch (B4 & B5) ans position 21 (same sizes) for Ignition Switch (B1 & B3)...

My battery keeps draining down at night it's a 99 dodge durango

you have something draining the battery, check for any lights that might be staying on,interior light, stop light under the hood light(if any),glove box light trunk light, if you have a multimeter with amp testing capability or an amp meter you can check where the drain is by removing each fuse & put the probes on each side the terminals until you find a drainage, that way you might be able to find out what is draining the power & rectify it......hope this helps......cheers
