I have a 2000 lexus rx 300. Sometimes there is a clicking noise that comes from around the center consul. It sounds something like the cd changer when changing cds. I thought that this was all that the noise was until it started happening more often. The CD changer is in the glove box. And the sound is deffinatly not coming from there. Any suggestions what my noise might be?
The location and type of noise u hear is most likely coming from the electric blend door temperature control actuator.when they fail the ting gears inside make a clicking noise like this, the location you gave is dead on to where this part is located.
I have a clicking sound coming from the fuse box on my LEXUS 2001 RX300. The security light is blinking on and off making a clicking sound also the car will not start. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Could be exhaust vibrating, or wire or tape dragging, As long as car visually looks and acts fine, then I would not worry until you notice somthing that doesn't feel right. the only thing under console is exhaust,

lol had this prob so many times, you will find that you have moisture in the cd exchanger and the way i found this out was on removing my cds first thing in the morning a noticed very slight misting on most of the cds. .i put the wifes hair dryer and blasted warm air into it for a good 15 minutes waited till it cooled down cleaaned carefully my cds replaced and away i went. hasten to add that this was temporary a few days later i got the odd cd not playing . i notice the prob more in cold weather and if the car has not been used for a few days. the boot maybe damp .. good luck .stu

This happened to me a few years ago. It wouldn't eject the CD for a year. I literally smacked the side of the dash where the cd player is located and it came out the next time I pressed eject. I found that same solution in a couple of forums. I had to do it a few times. I think the CD just has to allign with something to eject properly.

I should clarify what I meant by console. I meant the area around where all the heating and cooling controls are located. Tha noise seems to be coming from under the dash. Just to the right of center.
HAVE THE CAR PUT UP ON A RACK AND TRY TO DUPLICATE IT, OTHERWISE LIVE WITH IT.
