Stop running when you come to a stop

I have a 1996 ford contour and it starts p good and it runs good but when you are driving it when you come to a sto it wants to die I have replaced the coil pack on it and the fel filter but it still does it

It sounds like the idle air speed solenoid is either dirty or has failed. Try cleaning it out with carburetor cleaner and running it again before you replace it. Hope this helps. Good luck.

No 1996 vehicle uses E85
That product wasn't even thought of or
available until a few years ago
The is 85% Alcohol & will ruin your entire fuel system
The car wasn't designed for that fuel,no idea why you
would even go there,just silly

1996 ford contour when drivig for a while the car shuts down the engine shutrs down
Hi!!

This type of car tends to do that when the fuel pump is quitting. When the pump cools down it starts and runs fine again for about 20 min. (depending on the weather), then quits again.

Coolant sensor may be the problem. It is located near the thermostat housing. It may be sticking between modes & not operating properly.Also make sure coolant is circulating in system.
