2004 Subaru Forester Logo

I have a 2004 Subaru Forester and the vents just quit blowing, nothing from from the heater, defrost, or a/c. It didn't 'slowly' go out, it just stopped blowing. I called Subaru and the said it was 'probably' the blower motor and it would be and expensive fix due to the fact that the dash has to be removed. Can anyone confirm this for me? Is this something that I could do with the help of a manual?

Yes it most likely is the blower motor, and it can be expensive to change.
I don't know your level of automotive work, but its not an easy or quick job...that job calls for 1.3hrs labor ask the shop how much labor they are charging if they say more than 1.5 hrs they are going to charge go somewhere else

Another quick tip and it won't cost you anything is to check if all fuses are intact, are any of the other auxillary service non functional as well , such as reverse lights, interior cabin lights, horn, window washers, defogging...they sometimes work in series on the same fuse that drive the blower. I would check out the fuse box and confirm if perhaps it is not something as simple as this even though 80 % of times it is the motor that has become non functional.

Can't get heat at my feet in a 99 Forester. defroster works fine and blows on every setting. is there a fix for this?

I take it u mean the heaters blow hot air but only in 1 position no matter where u set it to blow it all depends on if it's electrically done or mechanically done , if it's mechanically done it's probably the rod that connects from the dial to the heater box has broke or come off or been removed etc , if it's electric then it's a bit harder and u will need to find out what bit is not working.

2013 subaru forester floor heater not working

Did something fall down in one of the vents? Sounds like a blend door is not able to fully move for some reason. If it's still under warranty take it to the dealer.

2004 Subaru Impreza ... I heard a squealing noise for a few days. My heater was was blowing hot air. When I turned the car off and started it back up I have nothing. No hot air. No cold air. No...

most fans in vehicles have phospher bronze bushes as bearings for the motor. These become dry and make a noise as described with thr motor eventually stopping. removal of the unit to replace or lubricate the bushes are the only answers. when you have done this check the fuse as it will probably have blown to protect the fan motor

How does one install a block heater in a 2004 Subaru Forester?

Aftermarket block heaters can be bought and some you just splice into your lower radiator hose.

You must remove the center freeze plug from the block, this requires the block be drained and that the van be on a car lift to get at the plug.

If you are looking to get at the section from the cupholder down to the cigarette lighter, start with the screws you can access when the cupholder is pulled out. If I remember correctly, after those are out you can pull the rest slowly out from there.
