On a 1996 chevy lumina. Starter went out. Replace starter, now car will turn over, but does not start. All fuses are good, car ran fine before starter went out.
You sure the wires are on right, and not shorting against something? Is that one of the ones you have to do from underneath, and nearly tear the whole car apart to get to it?

need more information:
1. does the motor turn over when cranking, and just
won't start?
2. if not, when you turn the key to on position can you hear the fuel pump kicking in?
You need to check for power at the purple wire going to the solonoid while key is in the start position, if no juice then check starter relay-under hood- fuse ,and ignition switch
sounds like you have a bad starter try to hit the starter with a hammer to see if it starts if it does replace starter or check for power at the small wire on the solenoid
