There is not any left or right reverse Light switch. It is only one switch for reversing light and it is fitted on the Transmission. If you do have the one working and the other not, first check the bulb if is ok,if not change it. If the bulbs are ok, check for any broken wiring.
The neutral switch is so that you can't start your vehicle in a gear (drive, reverse, ect.) your looking to replace the backup lamp switch. Not sure where its located on your jeep but that sounds like the problem. Happy hunting!
Don't know if this will help but its how i fixed my 2001. Go to: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/2001-jeep-grand-cherokee-laredo-brake-lights-not-working-vt4814.htmlTip: If you have a small piece of medal to put under the ground contact point then it will keep it raised in place, i used a really big staple from a staple gun to slide under mine I also replaced all the sockets that the bulbs go into cause mine were falling apart and may have been a part of the problem.
If this is an Auto trans, on the left side of the tranny just above the
tranny pan is a switch. This is the reverse light switch, replace it.
The switch screws into the side and has a 3 wire connector to it.
rear lamp failure. did you check brake and taillight and try blinkers some of the bulbs are dual filament bulbs one filament could be bad. the console light prob could be a blown fuse.
