2002 Sebring Convertible Start/Fuel fuse blows intermittently

I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible V6 2.7 Liter engine. Randomly one day the car wouldnt start. Replaced the 20 Amp Start/Fuel fuse under the hood and it started up just fine. Later that day the same thing happened. For about 20 days the problem went away. Yesterday it happened again. Had to replace the fuse twice to get it started. The rest of the day it ran fine.

I see on several web sites the Sebring has this problem and the cause could be the fuel pump, or the starter which starts out as an intermittent short. Is there any way to sort out which of these could be the true cause from this behavior? When the car is running it runs good, no surging or stalling.

HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE AND THE STARTER HAS BEEN THE CULPRIT..HAVE NEVER REPLACED A FUEL PUMP ON ONE OF THESE VEHICLES AT ALL

Testimonial: "I replaced the starter. This job is quite substantial. Also found the nut connecting the cable to the starter coil was not tight. I think it is fixed."

Where can I find an engine diagram for a 2007 Chrysler Sebring convertible limited edition 2.7 liter flex fuel engine

In a factory service manual, it is broken down into sections. So there is no one exploded view in the book or online.

Need owners manual for 1996 chrysler sebring jxi convertible

We keep blowing Fuses. We replaced the relay and still keeps blowing fuses. We don't know if it is a computer or wiring. Not sure where to start.

2002 sebring start/fuel fuse

Sounds like the fuel pump could be shorted or seized. I would begin troubleshooting there. It may need replacing.

2001 Sebring Convertible Starter Fuse Problem

The reason that you are blowing fuses is that your starter is drawing too much current. This usually means that the starter is failing (too much internal resistance). By increasing the size of the fuse yoiu are running more current through the wires than they are designed to handle. This can melt the insulation and maybe start a fire.
