Re: My engine is getting real loud...the temo guage
If your engine is getting hot after only a few minutews of running and it is getting loud than you probably have a cylinder head gasket problem. you should take it to a shop and have it checked.

Don't drive the vehicle until you get the vehicle checked. Running a engine that is overheating can do serious damage. By serious I also mean Very expensive!
Did you replace the thermostat in the cooling system when you replaced the coolant.
Try this simple test.
**Note** You need to put your hands near the engine when it is running. BE CAREFUL you do not touch Moving or Hot parts of the engine. With the engine Cold, open the bonnet and find the very large black hose going to the top corner of the radiator.-Carefully touch the hose. It should be cold. Start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes.
-CAREFULLY touch the large hose. It should be starting to get warm. Let it idle for another 5 minutes.
-Again CAREFULLY touch the large hose. It should be HOT to the touch.
If the hose does not heat up the thermostat could be faulty. -Carefully touch the hose. It should be cold. Start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes. -CAREFULLY touch the large hose. More than likely the thermostat is defective, when it goes down to 100 check and see how hot the upper radiator hose is, if it is just warm and you can keep you hand on it the engine is running cold, if you can't touch it for more than a few seconds then the thermostat is not the problem.
u need to take somewhere and have codes scanned (most parts store do this for free) my best guess is it probably a bad coolant temp sensor (u have 2 of them one for gauge and one for computer) one that probably bad is one for computer (should be one with two wires)(one with one wire is for gauge) if temp sensor is reading that the motor hot it will adjust air/fuel ratio for a hot motor but if motor is actually cold it run bad But to know for sure u need to at least get codes scanned
sounds like a coolant hose has a pin-hole or burst slightly open. pressure test cooling system or if you do not have a tester ----fill system with water and with bonnet open run engine untill it gets hot, builds pressure and starts leaking ,just keep an eye as where it leaks,
It is running lean during cold start mode when the fuel is vaporizing fast enough to keep the engine running.
Either your cold start system is not operating, or your Mass Air Flow Sensor is coated with varnish and needs to be cleaned with carb cleaner. Your engine coolant temp sensor tells your engine computer what the temo of the engine is. The computer then tells the fuel injectors how much fuel to inject. When engine is cold, it injects more fuel to keep the engine running. So, it may be the coolant temp sensor. Autozone can run a computer scan for free and tell you what the fault codes are. However, if the coolant sensor fails to always reading warm engine, the scan may not get a fault code for that.
A coolant sensor should be about $75, cheaper on ebay. Report back on codes and progress.
The air release valve is a black plastic screw by the coolant refill cap, if you unscrew this slightly after you've driven the car, it will release any air if it has any (be careful of the steam). If this solves your problem you're very lucky. I think it's most likely your water pump needs reeplacing. I would suggest getting this solved asap as there is a very real danger you can get your engine head damaged if the temp keeps going beyond the normal.
Replace the Ignition Control Module located on the side of the distributor. It is just about the size of your palm. However it's a pricey little bugger...
