My 2001 dodge intrepid wont start it turns over but wont start, it sounds like the flywheel isnt catching the starter but when we took the starter in, it passed all tests but the solinoid test which they said they couldnt test.

Try turning the engine by hand and giving it another try...if able as the starter is out of the way look at the teeth on the flywheel make sure they are not chewed up. if so there is your problem and a big job to replace that...if not just buy another starter and give it a try...your old starter my be having problems engaging the teeth...

My 2001 dodge intrepid wont start

Many many reasons, camshaft drive chain failure (2.7 V6) is one, no spark is another, no fuel pressure is another, if not cranking over with the starter then the battery can be the cause or the cables to it are loose or corroded.

My 93 jeep grand cherokee wont start but it is cranking over but not catching....checked all wires sprk plugs fluids air filter everything is connected been getting conflicting reports that its the starter...

if the starter is turning, but the motor isnt, its the starter failing to engage the flywheel. The rotation of the starter is supposed to force a gear forward to engage the flywheel, when that gear freezes up, the starter spins and the motor doesnt.you can try givinbg the starter a few sharp taps with a small hammer or wrench to see if it frees up

Car will not start starter checked out good what else can I check

The battery. Now if the car does not even crank and the starter is good, then I would recommend checking some fuses and relays. Some fuses to check would be the ignition, start, etc. For relays I would check the starter relay and the neutral start relay. I would also check neutral park switch on the transmission. If the switch isnt working properly then the car wont start at all.

My car wont start? i had the starter check and they told me it was good.all it does you just hear the starter spining not the engine.

Sounds like the bendix, the part that pops up and catches the the teeth of the flywheel, isn't catching the flywheel.
Since you've had the starter checked and it was good...I'd say look at the teeth of the flywheel.
I suspect worn or broken teeth on flywheel.

Hope this helps...

Wont start...

Need to check the condition of the battery. Use a volt meter and check the voltage before trying to start the motor. Have someone to try to start the motor while you check the voltage on battery at the same time. If the voltage dropps to either a 10 or less, replace the battery. If the battery is 4 years old or older then replace it. Hope this will help you.

2001 intrepid first problem oil light flickers when gas is accelerated. drove on freeway accelerated gas to catch speed and had to come up once came up it cut off on me and would not start back up. just...

the flickering oil light is a common problem with the 2.7 engine. as long as the oil level is full and oil is changed regularly, and the light just flickers and doesnt stay on , shouldnt be a problem, or get the oil sending unit changed. the second problem car stallings sounds like either cam or crank position sensor. does the engine light come on. if so the code should tell you.
