Try moving the shift lever in and out of gear and back to Park then try it. Have you tried starting the truck with the shifter in Neutral? If it turns over and starts, I would check the Neutral Safety Start Switch and it's connection down under on the side of the transmission? If you are experiencing lights and dashboard indicators coming on when inserting the key in the ignition but zero response from the solenoid on the starter or the starter turning over when turning the key switch to the start position, I would definitely check the Neutral Safety Start Switch. The way the clutch switch works not to be to simplistic is the vehicle will not crank unless you have the clutch pushed in. It may be that you need to replace the switch its not hard or expensive to do. You may also be able to adjust it The neutral safty switch is feed from the clutch switch thats the master control because if the vehicle is not running you realy woun't need the neutral safety switch. You have a 2003 this switch should last longer then that the clutch switch. So look up under the dash at the top of the clutch pedal you will see a switch attached to the top fof the pedal and it will have a plastic threaded rod with a adjustment nut to control when the switch is triped to the on pisition adjust this nut so that the switch is compressed sooner and activates the switch with less travel distance before it gets to the floor. You still may need a new switch it depends but its inexpensive and easy to replace and will likely correct this problem
