Clutch will not engage. put a slave cylander, and a master cylander on after slave cylander went out

If the slave cylinder has been replaced twice why did you do the master cylinder?If anything it behind the master at the clutch pedal, for the sake of trouble replace the line

Replaced Clutch Slave and worked good for a day . Then replaced with another new cluch slave and clutch master cy. .Worked good for a day and now pedal is slowly going back to floor

sounds like there is still air in the system
the master cylander needs to be bench bled before installing in vehicle
if that does not fix problem check fluid lines for leak

Clutch not engaging on 2000 cougar

The master cylinder or the slave cylinder have failed. I would check for a clear oil looking leak coming from either the firewall/above the clutch pedal or under the transmission. Either way you would need to replace the master or slave cylinder. Hope this helps!

your right it clutch slave mounted on lh ( drivers ) side of tranny. follow hydraulic line from the master
to find slave. replace notice there arre no bleeder valves. they are gravity bleed

i don't know if you went back to look at my post, but i fixed my car by putting in a new slave and new master cylinder and then tightening up the clutch petal. it does NOT grind anymore! and my baby is like new! it cost me about $90 through napa auto parts. $66 for the master and $16 for the slave and it comes with everything you need. hope this helps you!

Sounds like the SLave Cylinder has givin up Possible the Reli=eice Bearing I ALWAYS Replace As A PAIR . If you can put in gear by having someone rock the car front to back and it holds well its pretty Obvious that you DO have A Clutch Master Cylinder or Clutch Slave aat Releice Bearing Problem AGAIN These Parts I REPLACE AS A PAIR. Before ANything Chech Fluid Level that will tell the store IF FULL Most Probably MASTER-- If EMPTY then See where it went Look At SLAVE if wet thats the Culpret. --->> I Hope this INFO helps you and have a good Day >> Please dont forget to RATE me ok ?
