My 1991 Audi 80 will not start, engine cranks

Was running fine. Changed spark plugs and wires--drove afterwards, ran great. Next day changed air filter, would not start afterward. No luck since then. I've checked for a spark--weak, but I have a spark. I think I might have a vacuum issue. Help

Sorry, no joy, nothing unplugged. I did get it to turn over today, but will not stay running

Sounds like a bad or loose plug wire I would try this first, if you just put "new" ones in you may have one or more that are bad it happens.
Good luck.Raz,.

Sounds to me like you may have left the air temp sensor or something electronic disconnected - Distributor - MAF sensor - go back and check and make sure that there's not an electrical pigtail somewhere hanging off - a vacuum leak wouldn't keep it from starting unless it were major - and your AUDI is mechanical injection I think - so fuel pull isn't a problem - check those connectors - let me know??? Thanks

Have you tried a small burst of starting fluid into the intake and try to start it - that'll let you know - (if it starts briefly) that you have a fuel delivery problem and if it doesn' start then you may have a spark or other problem -

Cranks but won't start

Depending on the year make and model, a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) would help. Is the check engine light on when it does run? Testing needs to be done. Check for spark at the plug, make sure fuel pressure is what it should be and that the fuel injectors are working. If all that is good, I would check compression and timing.

Need to crank it over 5-6 times before it starts. once started runs great. fuel pump replaced and have spark. Is this a timing issue?

check the ignition system, when was it last serviced?
could be it needs new plugs or leads? Fuel pump changed but is the fuel system in good order. A GOOD local mechanic should be able to advise you on the issue

Changed spark plugs now runs rough and has thick white exhaust

Changing the plugs probably had nothing to do with it.
White smoke is usually a sign the engine is burning coolant or trans fluid. You might want to check those fluid levels.
If the coolant is low, you may have a leaking head gasket or intake gasket.

98 Ford F150 w/4.6l Wont start. Hear fuel pump click. Have pressure on fuel rail. Pulled #1 plug from head and plugged back into wire. Grounded plug and cranked. No spark. Changed wires 4 and 7 four days...

have diagnostic codes checked to see if you have a cam or crank sensor fault. make sure fuel pressure is at the required pressure, just testing to see if you have fuel at the valve is not enough. replace all spark plug wires. if you replaced two then all are just as old and even when they "look good" does not qualify as "they are good". Replace coil pack. start up drive away happy

95 geo metro 3cyl. 1.0L no spark changed

Pull one or two sparkplugs and check them for moisture; not fuel, but for water beads.
I don't know how long your engine ran after losing coolant but there is a chance that you lost the head gasket and have gotten water into the cylinders.

No spark. Have a '91 S-10 4.3L. Drove to work,

check crank position sensor, run scanner for trouble codes , some auto parts will do this for free

91 LEGACY STARTED RUNNING ROUGH

The cylinders are numbered as on the spark pack you changed. You might have done better putting the seafoam in the tank as an injector cleaner. Not sure why you changed so many parts, you seem to know how to get the codes from test connector lead hookup and the blink pattern. You might also want to check the fuel rail pressure and the crank and cam angle sensors. Before replacing the injector, swap the #4 injector with the adjacent one and see it the code moves with the injector or stays put. If the code stays on #4, then check the injector wiring, if it moves clean or replace the injector.
