I've had this same problem. All my filters are fine and the oil level is good. The check oil light comes on and whatever the problem is, it's drained my battery even with it just sitting. Any other suggestions?I've had this same problem. All my filters are fine and the oil level is good. you replaced the timing belt and have no compression?? I would say that the timing is off keeping valves open while motor is on compression stroke causing no compression, or you bent or broke valves.. gl with that. My 04 stratus 2.4l just stalled and wont start. Going to check well later today now make sure the timing belt didnt snap, checking spark and for fuel.. wish me luck as well.you replaced the timing belt and have no compression?? i would check and see if spark pluges are firing. you can take one out and plug into spark plug wire then let the bottom of the plug sit on engine and get someone to try to start while you look at the plug to see if there is any fire. if you have no fire or fuel it would be the crankshaft sencer. it could be the timing belt but the motor would sound different turning over then it used to.
Did you check your camshaft position sensor circuits to see if they were working correctly or test the sensor itself before going out and replacing the sensor?....Didn't think so....
Lesson learned here? Diagnostic Test Codes (DTCs) DO NOT tell you what parts to replace. They only tell you which systems or circuits in your vehicle are not working as they should be. Then it is up to the person diagnosing the car to determine what is actually CAUSING the system or circuit to malfunction......Of coarse, this requires that you must first understand how the system is supposed to work...
Anyway, with some proper diagnosis, I think you will probably find that your cam sensor code (P0340) is being caused by a broken timing belt. (If the cam does not turn, the cam sensor does not produce a signal, and the computer has a problem with that).
run the fault codes to get the problem area then get quotes from accredited service centers
guessing will cost money in replacing parts that are not broken
Did you turn the timing belt or the drive belt, because it sounds as if the timing belt broke. have this checked. if the belt broke the piston may have slapped the valves, this would have bent them. expensive repair
