Check the fuse box for a blown fuse, both seats may operate on one fuse depending on the model of vehicle and the fuse may be located either under the dash on the drivers side or in the engine compartment on the drivers side.

I Had the similar problem and had to replace the power motor so it can work again, I can imagine it's gonna cost a lot for your lexus, Normally this happens because of constant use.

I have the same problem. I took the seat apart and found a very small plastic gear assembly opposite the motor that was stripped out. Notice how I said plastic. I have not been able find any parts to fix. Both seats stopped moving forward and backward within 1 month of each other. 50 cent part that lexus does not sell. They quoted me $1700 to buy a new seat track. The car isn't even worth that.

SOURCE: Why won't electric seats work?

Check the fuses, if those are good and that is a bench seat, test the control, if the control is good replace the electric motor.

2001 Honda Accord electric seat moves up and down but not forward and backward.

Could be a bad switch or motor, or something jamming the seat movement.
Can you hear the motor running on both switches and directions?
I don't think they would have two fuses for the seat, but that might be a possibility.
Hope this helps.

The power seat adjuster has stopped moving the seat forward/backward but will adjust the seat up/down. I can't find anything obstructing its path. Is there a simple explanation for this? Jeep Liberty 2002.

Those power seats have two power motors. One moves it up and down. The one that moves the seat forward and backwards must have gone bad. Have it checked and replaced if necessary.

My front seat will not move forward. It will recline, move up and down but it will not move forward. I've tried reseting the seat positions but nothing seems to work. my seat wont move forward is there a...

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.

Power driver seat will not adjust forward or back.

My intuition tells me that the 6 way power seat track forward / reverse motor is bad. Sometimes you can replace just the one motor but most often a whole new power seat track is the only way to repair. It is not too bad to replace but the seat will have to be removed from the car and placed upside down to access the track assy. There are 2 bolts in the front of the seat and 2 bolts in the back of the seat that hold it down to the floorboard. Once it is loose you can rock the seat backwards to access and unplug the electrical connectors.
