To remove the cable from the firewall, there are two nuts. in the way of one nut is module/assembly. How do you remove this module/assembly?

Remove the bolt in the center of the wiring connector and pull connector from the module. There are 3 nuts underneath the module 2 nearest to the radiator side and 1 on the side near the firewall . Autozone has a breakdown online by registering for free .

Has to be other nuts or fasteners. Check on the firewall side, too, behind the engine. There could be nuts or fasteners on that side.
You do have the heater hoses already removed? I think you just missed all the nuts holding the heater case. Good job getting that far, just keep looking, pretty sure there would be more than just two nuts, even one more, but check on the firewall side.

Open the hood as you stand in front on the left side you will see a assembly connection going into the firewall

The blower motor can be tested by removing the lead to it and seeing if it has 12 Volts by observing if the 'test light' lights up when the dash controls indicate that the blower motor should be operational.

One can test the fuses by using a 'fuse tester' available from Walmart or an auto parts store which will light up when an energized circuit has a blown fuse.

The blower motor is located on the firewall on the passenger side, in general on GM cars from the 1990s.

You may have to remove some items to get to it, though.
Blower Motor REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. If necessary, tag and disconnect the number 2, 4 and 6 spark plug wires from the ignition coil and move the coil out of the way.
3. For 1993-99 vehicles, remove the nuts and cross brace bar.
4. Detach the electrical connections from the blower motor.
5. Disconnect the cooling tube from the blower motor.
6. Unfasten the screws securing the blower motor to the blower module assembly.
7. Remove the blower motor and fan assembly from the module.
8. If necessary, unfasten the nut attaching the fan to the blower motor shaft, then pull the fan from the blower motor. Fig. 1: The blower motor and fan assembly is mounted in the heater and A/C module, and is accessible from the engine compartment

   To install:
   
9. If the fan was removed from the motor, position the fan on the shaft, then install the retaining nut. Tighten the nut to 12 inch lbs. (1.4 Nm).
10. Position the blower motor and fan assembly to the module, then install the retaining screws. Tighten to 5 inch lbs. (0.6 Nm).
11. Connect the cooling tube to the blower motor.
12. Attach the electrical connector to the blower motor.
13. On 1993-98 vehicles, install the cross brace bar and retaining nuts. Tighten the nuts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
14. If removed, install the coil and connect the spark plug wires, as tagged during removal.
15. Connect the negative battery cable.

Look at fig. 4 for the heater a/c dash control: HEATER CORE Altima REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Position the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.
2. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
3. Disconnect the negative (() battery cable; then, the positive (+) battery cable. NOTE: Wait for a least 3 minutes after disconnecting the battery cables for the charge in the air bag circuit to dissipate before working on the air bag module(s).
   
4. Remove the driver's side SRS and steering wheel by removing or disconnecting the following:
   • Lower lid from the steering wheel and disconnect the driver's air bag module connector
   • Left and right side lids from the steering wheel
   • Special bolts from both side of the steering wheel using a tamper resistant Torx wrench (T50)
   • Air bag module and store it face up
   • Horn's electrical connector and remove the steering wheel nut
   • Steering wheel from the steering column using a suitable puller
5. Remove the passenger's side SRS by removing or disconnecting the following:
   • Glove box door and the glove box
   • Front passenger's air bag module connector
   • 2 special bolts using a tamper resistant Torx wrench (T50)
   • 4 passenger's air bag-to-instrument panel nuts
   • Front passenger's air bag module and store it face up.
6. Drain the cooling system into a clean container for reuse.
7. Discharge and recover the air conditioning system refrigerant.
8. Working in the engine compartment, disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes.
9. Remove the instrument panel by removing or disconnecting the following:
   • Kick plate and dash side finisher on the driver's side
   • 2 lower panel-to-instrument panel screws and the lower panel on the driver's side
   • 2 lower reinforcement panel-to-instrument panel screws and the lower reinforcement panel
   • 6 steering column cover screws, the covers, the spiral cable and combination switch
   • 2 cluster lid "A" screws and the cluster lid "A"
   • 3 combination meter screws, disconnect the electrical harness connector and remove the combination meter
   • Switch panel
   • Instrument panel lower covers
   • Snap out the transmission shifter finisher (boot)
   • 4 cluster lid "C" screws and the cluster lid "C"
   • 4 audio and deck pocket-to-instrument panel screws and the audio and deck pocket
   • 5 center console screws and the center console
   • 2 center instrument panel screws and the center panel
   • front defroster grilles
   • Front pillar garnish
   • Instrument panel 3 nuts/4 screws and the instrument panel
   • 8 instrument stay assembly nuts and the stay
   • Steering member assembly 5 nuts/1 bolt and the steering member
10. Remove the air conditioning housing assembly by removing or disconnecting the following:
    • Refrigerant lines from the air conditioning housing assembly
    • Thermo control amp
    • Air conditioning housing assembly
11. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Heater unit

12. Install or connect the following:
    • Heater core to the heater unit
    • Heater unit
13. Install the air conditioning housing assembly by installing or connecting the following:
    • Air conditioning housing assembly
    • Thermo control amp
    • Refrigerant lines to the air conditioning housing assembly
14. Install the instrument panel by installing or connecting the following:
    • Steering member assembly and the steering member 5 nuts/1 bolt
    • Instrument stay assembly and the 8 stay nuts
    • Instrument panel and the instrument panel 3 nuts/4 screws
    • Front pillar garnish
    • Front defroster grilles
    • Center instrument panel and the 2 center panel screws
    • Center console and the 5 center console screws
    • Audio and deck pocket and the 4 audio and deck pocket-to-instrument panel screws
    • Cluster lid "C" and the 4 cluster lid "C" screws
    • Snap in the transmission shifter finisher (boot)
    • Instrument panel lower covers
    • Switch panel
    • Combination meter, connect the electrical harness connector and install the 3 combination meter screws
    • Cluster lid "A" and the 2 cluster lid "A" screw
    • Combination switch, the spiral cable, the covers and the 6 steering column cover screws
    • Lower reinforcement panel and the 2 lower reinforcement panel-to-instrument panel screws
    • Lower panel and the 2 lower panel-to-instrument panel screws, on the driver's side
    • Kick plate and dash side finisher, on the driver's side
15. Working in the engine compartment, connect the heater hoses to the heater core tubes.
16. Install the passenger's side SRS by installing or connecting the following:
    • Front passenger's air bag module
    • 4 passenger's air bag-to-instrument panel nuts
    • 2 new special bolts and torque using a tamper resistant Torx wrench (T50) to 11-18 ft. lbs. (15-25 Nm)
    • Front passenger's air bag module connector
    • Glove box door and the glove box
17. Install the driver's side SRS and steering wheel by installing or connecting the following:
    • Steering wheel to the steering column
    • Steering wheel nut and torque the nut to 22-29 ft. lbs.
    • Horn's electrical connector
    • Air bag module
    • New special bolts to both sides of the steering wheel and torque the bolts using a tamper resistant Torx wrench (T50) to 11-18 ft. lbs. (15-25 Nm).
    • Both the left and right side lids to the steering wheel
    • Lower lid to the steering wheel and connect the driver's air bag module connector
18. Refill the cooling system.
19. Connect the positive (+) battery cable; then, the negative (() battery cable.
20. Evacuate, charge and leak test the air conditioning system refrigerant.
21. Operate the engine to normal operating temperatures; then, check the climate control operation and check for leaks.

Removal & Installation

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
   
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 90 seconds for the SRS memory battery to drain.
   
   CAUTION

   After disconnecting the negative battery cable, wait for at least 30 seconds for the SRS module to deplete its stored energy.

   • Steering wheel-to-SRS module nuts
     
   • SRS module from the steering wheel and disconnect the electrical connector
     
   • Steering wheel-to-steering column nut

   • Multi-function switch assembly
     
   • Front and rear console assemblies
     
   • Lower left side crash pad
     
   • Instrument panel

1. Install the SRS module and the steering wheel by installing or connecting the following:
   
   • Steering wheel to the steering column
     
   • Steering wheel-to-steering column nut and torque to 30-37 ft. lbs. (40-50 Nm)
     
   • SRS module to the steering wheel and connect the electrical connector
     
   • Steering wheel-to-SRS module nuts
     
2. Install or connect the following:
   
   • Multi-function switch assembly
     
   • Suction and discharge hoses to the evaporator assembly
     
   • Heater hoses with the vacuum hose to the heater housing
     
3. Refill the cooling system.
   
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
   
5. Evacuate, charge and leak test the air conditioning system refrigerant.
   
6. Operate the engine to normal operating temperatures; then, check the climate control operation and check for leaks.

Blower Motor - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(see Figures 1 and 2)

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. If necessary, tag and disconnect the number 2, 4 and 6 spark plug wires from the ignition coil and move the coil out of the way.
3. For 1993-99 vehicles, remove the nuts and cross brace bar.
4. Detach the electrical connections from the blower motor.
5. Disconnect the cooling tube from the blower motor.
6. Unfasten the screws securing the blower motor to the blower module assembly.
7. Remove the blower motor and fan assembly from the module.
8. If necessary, unfasten the nut attaching the fan to the blower motor shaft, then pull the fan from the blower motor.

To install:

1. If the fan was removed from the motor, position the fan on the shaft, then install the retaining nut. Tighten the nut to 12 inch lbs. (1.4 Nm).
2. Position the blower motor and fan assembly to the module, then install the retaining screws. Tighten to 5 inch lbs. (0.6 Nm).
3. Connect the cooling tube to the blower motor.
4. Attach the electrical connector to the blower motor.
5. On 1993-98 vehicles, install the cross brace bar and retaining nuts. Tighten the nuts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
6. If removed, install the coil and connect the spark plug wires, as tagged during removal.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.

Removal & Installation

Exploded view of the blower motor housing and the heater air plenum assemblies

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Allow the engine to cool down. Drain the cooling system to a level below the heater core fittings on the firewall.
   
2. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes and plug hoses.
   
3. Remove the five nuts that secure the blower motor housing to the firewall.
   
4. Pull the housing away from the firewall. Disconnect any wire harness plugs which inhibit the housing.
   
5. Remove the remaining nuts which secure the heater air plenum (inside the passenger compartment) to the firewall.
   
6. In the passenger compartment, remove the instrument panel. Refer to Section 10.
   
7. Pull the heater air plenum rearward from the firewall and remove it from the vehicle.
   
8. Remove the heater core from the heater air plenum.
   
9. Inspect all air seals on the components and firewall and replace any that are damaged.
   

1. To install:
2. Install the heater core into the air plenum chamber.
   
3. Position the heater air plenum against the firewall from the passenger compartment.
   
4. Under the hood, install the plenum retaining nuts.
   
5. Install the blower motor housing to the firewall and install the attaching nuts.
   
6. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core tubes at the dash panel in the engine compartment. Do not over-tighten the hose clamps.
   
7. Install the instrument panel.
   
8. Check the coolant level and add coolant as required. Connect the negative battery cable.
   
9. Start the engine and check the system for coolant leaks.
   

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then drain the radiator.

CAUTION When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by the ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.

1. Remove the heater hoses from the core. The top hose connects to the water pump and the lower hose goes to the thermostat housing.
2. Remove the cables and all electrical connections from the heater and defroster assembly.
3. Remove the nuts from the core case studs located on the firewall.
4. From inside the car, remove the case-to-firewall mounting screws and also the heater and defroster assembly.
5. Remove the retaining springs and core.

To install:

1. Install the core and retaining spring, making sure the core-to-case sealer is in good shape.
2. Install the heater and defroster assembly, then install and tighten the case-to-firewall mounting screws.
3. Install the nuts to the core case studs on the firewall.
4. Install the cables and engage all electrical connectors to the heater and defroster assembly.
5. Engage the heater hoses to the core.
6. Connect the negative battery cable, then refill the engine cooling system and check for leaks.
